Pics was returning amazingly in the 5th set, he was a little bit unlucky with the return at 5:4 (30-15), 5 cm closer to the line and probably would've had double match point.

The match was decent over the first 3 sets, but then became absolutely pathetic. Robin didn't look very good in the heat, served mediocre and returned like a clown. Ferrer returned really well but in the end gave the match away. Sod will take the win and hope for a better day on wednesday..

I don't fear Soderling beating Nadal very much after that.

He played 9 str8 sets witout loosin his serve, he was bound to get some sort of reaction and struggle a bit especially in the heat being put on court 12.

The only real horrible service game came at 40-0 in the 4th set when he gave that away after wasting 3 BP.s the game before.

Some people are funny OK if he lost the match it would have been horrific. He won his first three matches in str8s under 5 hrs without loosin serve. Ferrer indeed returned alot of serves today and Sod got a real test.

Looking at the matchups, Murray probably fears Soderling more than he fears Nadal.

He struggled, but at least he got thru. Roddick struggled and didnt make it. Soda has often problem with heat, once in Miami he even had to retire because of it. Wednesday is new day, different court and probably different, cooler weather.Forecast says max 22 C and cloudy. Nadal will not have bye in QF.

Nice win. Not a great match overall in terms of quality, but it was impressive to see Robin being able to raise his game and hold it together as he finished it in the nick of time. Robin may have a clear advantage in the H2H between these two players, but they have had many tight, battling affairs over the years.

ferrer put up a fight as i expected, can not ask for much more.
