It's Ferrer, actually. I messed up the title (guess I'm thinking too much about Nadal lol) but I already changed it and the names in the poll are correct.

Soderling in 4, maybe 5... Ferrer's just too much of a fighter and he's pretty solid on grass

Fedicilous
06-26-2010, 06:45 PM
If Soderling drops a set against this grass-mug, it means that he should pull out from quarterfinal against Nadull, because he won't win more that 2 games per set.

Sod in str8ts if his serve and forehand are firing on all cylinders. But I'd like to see Ferrer make it competitive.

How lucky is Soderling with his draw. Playing claycourters. :(

I think Ferrer can beat Soderling, but it's gonna be tough. He's got the game to keep up with him, but doesn't exactly have a serve that can bail him out of trouble, like Soderling does. I think this could go 4 or 5 and it'll be hard hitting match for sure. Robin will probably win, but I wouldn't be shocked if Ferrer beat him either.

Now now, before we go calling Ferrer a mug on grass, remember who has a grass court title here and who does not!

That being said, I think Robin will still take this in 3, maybe 4 if Ferrer is inspired. I hope Ferrer can pull off the upset, but that serve of Soda is monstrous. Only Murray has a prayer of beating him here.

Let's hope Sod can do what Jeremy couldn't and win in 3.

sod should win, sod in 4! but ferrer will put up a fight like he always does.

The serve is so huge at Wimbledon. Ferrer doesn't have it. He is a great player but not on grass. Lucky to get this far. Soderling is best on grass. I think he'll win Wimbledon despite having to go through Nadal, Murray, and Federer.

soderling is very impresive these days

HarryMan

Soderling is playing great tennis. He is serving very big and hitting big forehands and backhands. Ferrer is a fighter no doubt but Soderling has too much game for him on grass. It will be three or four sets win for Soderling.

Soderling is bound to have an off day. Ferrer will win this in 5 and then bend to Nadal in Quarters.

If Soderling drops a set against this grass-mug, it means that he should pull out from quarterfinal against Nadull, because he won't win more that 2 games per set.

:haha: Nadal has lost 4 sets to Haase and Petzschner. At least Ferrer is somewhat of a high ranked player.

Is it possible to change the title of a thread after it has become a part of the G.M?
oh yes, Soda in 4.

Wow. Enough of you are picking Ferrer in 4 or 5. I hope you're right but I can't see that happening. Ferrer is a great defender/retriever and will not beat himself but very few players have an answer to Robin's blistering forehand to the corners. The sheer power of it (it it's on) will be more than Ferrer can handle. Ferrer will get no free points on serve and Robin will so if they go to a tiebreak Robin will prevail.

You're getting overwhelmed by the thought of Rafa winning Wimbledon.

Don't worry.

Soderling will take this in straights, with perhaps one tight set (a TB or a 7-5) - unless he's got one of those off-days. In that case, he'll win in 4 or 5.

This match will be a lot closer than what people think.

Ferrer has beaten Soda in 2 of their last 3 encounters.

The only time they played on grass Soda won but tightly. It was 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-2 in Nottingham.

Expected tough match for Soda. I thought he was going to need just four sets, though.
