Only Italian win today.

Russell served for the match at 5-3 in the 4th, had 5-2 in the 4th set TB and an early break in the 5th.

Classic choke, no excuses for Mike here.
Fognini showing the newfound fighting skills.

what was the choke? i didn't see any points he should have won but lost because of his thick arm

What a choke from Russell. What a chance wasted with such a draw...

He won? Holy shit!

Wait, wasn't this a 2nd round match? IIRC, he beat Verdasco in the 1st.

I'm sorry but thinking that Fognini is the biggest fighter on tour just makes me remeber when he was 5-0 up on clay (I think) against Murray and still managed to lose 7-6 :tape:

good win for Fognini, but anyone is more mentally tough than Russell  :o I'm shocked Mike even won a round :p

Fognini's unbelievable.
He's the only one who played almost entire sets
so nervously/sloppily but managed to win most sets.
You can't say that about some #2 players.

And people think Fog doesn't care  He's just a cool cat and doesn't need to scream and run like a gorilla to be a fighter :worship:

Always a bad day when this guy wins, but the alternative wasn't much better.

For some reason, Fognini reminds me of this guy
