From what I saw, Murray looked good

Commanding performance from Muzza, indeed. Didn't want to keep the Queen waiting for her tea all too long, so made a quick job of it.

very good performance
more aggressive than usual but can he do the same under pressure?

Easy win for murray.

i hope this is a sign of better things to come for murray. nadal needs to face at least one decent player before the final.

Yep, excellent showing. Should have too much for Simon. With Tsonga now in a fifth set the draw could be opening up.

Her Maj is pleased.

He won, he won quickly and didn't ruin her schedule, he didn't drop a single F-bomb and there wasn't a single streaker.

Everyone involved very relieved.

Oh and he played well too, I thought.

Murray played very well.

Seems to have improved the serve IMO. We'll see how it holds up in tough spots. Nice and aggressive groundstrokes as well, the forehand stood out.

Jarkko should be happy he made the second round, not much chance in winning this one. Get your ranking back up in the top50 Shark :yeah:

will he reach the final? Fingers crossed. Too bad he cud meet another of my favourites Tsonga.

It was a very good serving day,but IMO means little moving forward. The best I've seen him serve in a match was either the USO semi vs Nadal or the Madrid semi vs Federer. His serving was poor and mediocre respectively in his next match IIRC.

If you saw any technical changes to suggest improvement rather than just a good day I would be delighted to hear it though.

People seem to be learning not to overreact to Murray's form fluctuations now. Most of his best tournaments have included a lousy performance. It might have been better to stink against Hajek as he may lose any future matches if he has a real off day.

Well you're right, too soon to jump on the bandwagon .

Tough to actually see anything with no slo-mo, but you can see the results. I felt that he got a better kick on his second serve than usual and also his slice serve had more zing.

He does serve really flat often though, but if he's adding more spin it's a step in the right direction IMO :yeah:

Murray always serves well at Wimbledon, it's probably his best serving tournament.

B+++ very good from Murray. :D

Would've been interesting to see if things had got tight how verbal Murray would've been with the queen there. I guess we'll never know :p

There wasn't much Nieminen could do with his big serve against the gargantuan return of Murray.

Soderling?

Any video of this bow?

I really don't know how people call Murray boring.

He's probably the most entertaining baseliner out there... Mecir nostalgia...

Murray served absolutely perfect. His 1st serves were really clicking and his 2nd serves were a bit better than usual. Like the first match, he was pretty aggressive with the forehand. He HAS to make at least the SF with this form.

well we dont know for sure soderling will make the quarters do we? but ideally both soderling and murray will face nadal.

Fixed.

It certainly isn't a brutal draw for him, but it isn't an easy draw for him either. Simon will be tricky regardless where his game lies, and Querrey/Malisse are both dangerous players considering what they can bring to the court. Tsonga should be his QF matchup, so that would be interesting to watch..

the bowing was so forced and unecessary.. stupid tradition.

jarko was never winning this match with that serve.

Murray is my bet to win Wimbledon.

He has a very easy draw and is playing really great tennis.

Soderling-Murray are 2/2 h2h, with three of those matches more than 3 years ago and the latest one in Indian Wells during Murray's post-AO slump. Assuming things go to plan, that SF should answer a lot of questions about Murray's chances of winning Wimby in his career. Should be a good match :yeah:

Mind numbingly boring match. Jarko has zero offensive ability these days and the Scottish dolt was free to do whatever.

Typical scoreline for a match where Nieminen is playing someone ranked higher than him.

i would like to see the GOAT beat nadal in the final, but a loss to his soulwitch soderking is just as well :yeah:

I saw only a few games, but there he was playing very pushy and lame, and making mistakes as well...
