The Unusual Circumstances Thread!

Lately, I've been trying to think of events in tennis history where something completely out of the ordinary happens, and so I bring you the Unusual Circumstances Thread. You can pretty much discuss about very unusual circumstaces and/or ask any questions about odd events in tennis history.

Here's a question!

Has there ever been a match where both players were defaulted in a match?

They could be defaulted for any reason; fist-fighting, etc.

And if there ever was a match, did the player they were to face next get a bye?

Take a look at this:

Roscoe Tanner was the defending champion but lost in the first round to Johan Kriek.
There was no result for the tournament due to rain. The four semifinalists in the tournament were Jimmy Connors, Brian Teacher, Peter Fleming and Gene Mayer.

Mahut and Isner have been on court for 6 hours and 12 minutes(technically).
130 Aces between the two of them.

what if Mahut and Isner both leave the rackets and say "I've had enough of this"?

The 1984 Rotterdam ABN AMRO tournament had two winners, Jimmy Connors & Ivan Lendl, due to an interruption in the final by a (false) bomb alarm. :)

I remember an old television commercial with Agassi & Sampras playing a hardcourt match that went on and on for so long that they both had beards, grass had grown in the cracks on the hard court, season changed, McEnroe lost interest...

The commercial was 'never ending tennis'

I'm not a MTF man (more wta)
but if i remember, Karlovic won a tourny playing two surfaces.
that, in my books - is pretty odd.

and winning by default since your opponent got stabbed is a bit more than unusual.

the doubles point hitting a bird came to my mind (men).
mixed doubles in general is awkward.

Some player hitting a bird during a rallye once. Don't remember where.

Llodra hit 32 first serve in, in 4 out of his 5 matches last week, quite odd.

it was actually a single point being played and after many years playing it the ballboy dropped the ball and the umpire called 'let, replay the point"
