Unlucky Hajek.

Murray was good from 4-4 in the first set.

Hajek didn't present much resistance in the second and third sets but at least Andy looked in good form, positive play, some aggression mixed in with the usual counterpunching.

Shame it took 30 minutes of patting the ball around before he got going.

Only got to see the first set where Murray was making some silly errors. Hajek even was a break up. But good to see he turned it around and ran with the match.

Only saw the bulk of the second set and the third set but it looked very good for Murray on the whole and he'll be happy to have gotten it over quickly.

Murray was impressive.

His returning skills are amazing and should pay off on this court.

Quite a good start. Murray looks so much more impressive when he is on top and going for his shots.

I liked what i saw. As the great scoobs wrote, he was very agressive at times, and he hit his forehand topsin (even though it's still ugly) with some determination today. His serve was also very good, even his second kicks. Good stuff overall, but he can't have those mental lapses against quality players.

He was only playing Hajek,ffs.

Federer was only playing Falla and Djokovic was only playing Rochus.

Yeah, not bad at all. I have a good feeling about this Wimby :wavey:

Murray is good for tennis, good that he is winning :wavey:
He was only playing Hajek,ffs.
And? Does that make his form any less great?

Federer was only playing Falla and Djokovic was only playing Rochus.

Yeah, but still not comparable. Hajek is a claycourt challenger player :p

Good shit there. Even some forehand winners down the line.

Yeah, but still not comparable. Hajek is a claycourt challenger player :p

Whereas Falla is a grass court expert? Murray won handily against a lower ranked player, while the two mentioned earlier struggled. There's not a huge gulf between Falla/Rochus and Hajek.

Hajek played great at the start, partly because Murray wasn't doing much...but Murray really turned it up nicely

Federer was only playing Falla and Djokovic was only playing Rochus.

Fall played out of his skin and Rochus is a much much better grass court player than Hajek.

Fall played out of his skin and Rochus is a much much better grass court player than Hajek.

Yet if Murray had done that to Falla the cry from you would have been, "It was only Falla!" Matches aren't played on paper. Players have to go out and win. Murray did it comfortably and some of the others didn't.

Now, quit whining because Gasquet isn't there.

Whatever. Murray won easily, and he's in great form. So that's all that matters :wavey:
Fall played out of his skin and Rochus is a much much better grass court player than Hajek.Oh please, richie  Murray won comfortably, even if it was only Hajek.

Hajek is a weaker opponent than Falla or Rochus, but the fact remains Murray has played a more convincing first round than either Federer or Djokovic.

Nice to see him play decently but I want to see this carry over against tougher opponents, one trouble with Andy is that one match to the next, the form can fluctuate wildly.

This was a reassuring performance from the middle of the first set onward, considering where he was at at Queens, but a dominating performance vs Hajek is no less than I would hope for and expect, to be honest.

Each year he improves his Wimbledon result. QF in 2008, SF in 2009, F in 2010 very likely .
