A sharp match from Andy, soundly defeating his compatriot in quick fashion.

As good as Ram's serve is, it was being read like a book by Roddick. Add to that Roddick's surprisingly good ROS, Rajeev didn't stand a chance. Roddick's backhand is also as best I think it has been; he still loops his forehands, however. I don't think Andy faced a single break point. Each set also averaged 28 minutes a piece.

Expecting Andy to reach deep here. Solidifies expected dominance for the first week of this tournament.

Didn't have to do much, Ram is in horrid form. Good start, though.

Good win. Keep going Andy. Want to see you get your sweet revenge on Fed in the Sfs. :D

Nice play from Andy on all fronts, but let's get real here, he wasn't playing someone who could or would actually test him at all. Next match v. Llodra is where we will see what his level is against a competitive player who isn't completely overmatched.

As for Raji, he's about 2 weeks away from having his fairytale ride to the top 100 end.

It's a shame Roddick couldn't have player Federer today. He might have gotten his first grass victory over him.

Anyone with a fraction of mental fortitude would have beaten Federer today. He was /that bad/.

Well, that worked out nicely. It finished twenty minutes before the Spain match and with how quick Roddick wanted to get on with everything today, it seemed like he wanted to watch it too. He was fantastic today, everything went right and he didn't expand too much energy so a perfect start to the tournament for him.

It's pretty much a repeat of the Spring HC Season. All the seeds kept falling and Roddick somehow does alright. However, at Queens.. every seed fell lol

Llodra lost a set to Jesse Witten today.....Andy will be just fine.

I feel it is now or never for Andy at Wimbledon, with Roger struggling and Rafa not at his 2007/2008 form. After watching Goran win it all in 2001 it always feels premature to claim "now or never".

Raj looking like a near copy of Sampras, right down to the blacked out Wilson and thinning hair (but nowhere near the results of course). Good to see his old school tennis get some TV time, he's a decent fellow.

Was afraid Andy would have sympathy pains for Federer again and end up in his own 5 setter, glad to see him routine his way through this one.

Roddick was really good, looked sharp. But...

Ram is an absolute clown of a tennis player. The guy is like a really, really, really poor man's Roddick.

For his sake I hope he defends his points in Newport...

Ram is like a bad impersonation of Pete Sampras. stylistically i never seen a pro player imitate pete that much.

Good match from Andy, looked pretty good, nice match, pretty bad play from Ram so, havent seen him that much on TV yet, but his serve pretty much reminded me of Pete´s, at least the service motion, rest was just bad, no challenge for Andy!
