which are you?

fanboy/girl -- loves one player no matter what. even if said player wins everything in sight, a la federer and sampras, he's your man.

a tennis fan in general -- has the highest regard for federer and sampras but get sick of them for the way they make, made everything a faits accomplis.

a tennis junkie -- breaths, eats, sleeps and lives tennis. can rattle off the 75th to the 100th ranked players off the top of one's head.

just curious. i'm a tennis fan in general. i tend to root for the smaller guy who has to fight and scrap for everything.

If I was single with no responsibilities, living alone, and only had myself to spend my money on, I would be an absolute tennis junkie, travelling to every tournament that I possibly could, glued to the t.v and latop, skipping meals or living off cold baked beans just so I could indulge my passion to the ultimate. But reality bites (not complaining as I wouldn't have it any other way) but a job, husband and kids means time, money, and electrical appliances have to be shared and juggled, otherwise I'd be the mother from hell. Having said that, there will be a few burnt and late dinners, no doubt over, the next fortnight
I have my favourite players to whom I am loyal regardless of their results but I'm a realist and can see their "feet of clay" whilst always being a supporter.

Where are the options gloryhunter and nationalist?

There are quite a lot around here.

I prefer the term FBIC ( Fan Bitch in Charge)

06-20-2010, 04:15 PM
I guess you could put me under each option. I don't like any of the TOP players, but I am loyal to my man Hewitt. Having said that, I root for a number of lower ranked challenger players aswell. And, I know most players on the tour.

Probably a junkie. I follow the lower leagues and college tennis as closely as the top

06-21-2010, 01:42 AM
HUGE fan of NADAL/djokovic/del potro, but I also follow heaps of other tennis players too (refer to my sig).

not really a fan of federer and murray, but i have respect for their achievements.

Tennis fan in general.

Junkie...can remember the score of just about every match I've ever watched and watch match I possibly can. I like some players more than others but I am certainly no fanboy. One of the things that draws me to tennis is that just about all of the players are very likable. Basketball and football have a lot of assholes and it's a real turnoff. But most importantly, I never enjoy myself more than when I'm playing or watching tennis with my grandfather. He got me started on the sport and I know the interest will never leave me.

06-21-2010, 10:03 AM

06-21-2010, 10:04 AM
Pretty close to being a junkie.

Definately a true tennis fan, I have loved and played this sport since I was four. Lots of players over the years that I have followed but I love all tennis in general, its an amazing sport.
