It's too bad, but I think it's what people who follow Gulbis expected. I hope he's recovered for the summer hardcourt season.

Am I celebrating
You must be really confused thinking I'm happy Ernests has withdrawn taking into account the fact I like his style
:o

I used this "smile" to express I'm generally speaking happy tonight (but not about Ernests)

I actually agree, I'm just so apathetic about the whole event, and I never usually am.

Nadal's nightmare draw gets a little easier. Still a lot of work against big hitters in almost every round.

An hamstring injury is to fragile on that slippery grass. Wise decision.

We will miss his amazing shots and style. Not many of them on ATP tour these days.
Let's wait for Los Angeles then...his next stop.

Just for the eye:

Im still kinda not buying it until Wimbledon reports it, won't be surprising if it is true! I hope he doesn't stuff around on his long break and does some hard core practicing! Get Well Erno!

Luck for Nadal...

Not really. Gulbis coming back from an injury without any playing time might not have made it far enough to play Nadal and if he had, likely wouldn't be a formidable opponent. Now, I would say it is lucky Nadal isn't playing a fully healthy and match tough Gulbis. But, that wasn't in the cards anyway.

Lots of good players missing this Wimby, and it's so frustating because most of them are my favorite ones.

Hope Gulbis can return at the hardcourt season.

No difference for Nadal. Gulbis after injury would take off a set, nothing more.
That's relevant loss on grass and in GS.

Really? What makes you think so? Petzschner has moved into his place in the draw on the Wimbledon website as seed 33.

Edit - beaten to it by one minute. Must type faster.

Terribly sad for Ernests. I just hope he will recover in time for the hard court season. Sucks that he has lost his good momentum though.
