SF matches:
(1)Federer vs (15)Hewitt

Verdasco and MP on grass against a top 10 player. What a lolllll.

Federer - Berdych
Hewitt - Roddick
Verdasco - Murray
Soderling - Nadal

Or Djokovic making it instead of Hewitt, and Tsonga instead of Verdasco, can't really see anything else happening tbh.

Verdasco has the easiest possible draw, He is a good player on grass., much better than Tsonga, who has pretty much lost himself this year and does not know how to move on grass. Than he has Murray who faces an enormous amount of pressure here at home and who cannot deal with it, Murray's game has regressed ever since the 2010 Aussie. Murray will find himself back to the top but it won't be at this year's Wimbledon, way too soon.

Verdasco this year has beaten Djokovic twice, Soderling, Roddick, Ferrer, Berdych, etc.(almost beat Davydeno at the Aussie Open). He is well rested now having not played for a month and he can really play on grass.

Usually i don't make bold prediction but something tells me we are in a tournament with countless suprises; when doing FITD my QF line-up was:

Roger Federer vs Tomas Berdych
Novak Djokovic vs Mardy Fish
Julien Benneteau vs Sam Querrey
Marcos Baghdatis vs John Isner

semis:

Tomas Berdych vs Mardy Fish
Sam Querrey vs John Isner

final:

Berdych vs Querrey

have this super strong feeling that djokovich will take out both finalists of last year in the quarter (roddick) and semis (fed) before holding out it to Rafa Nadal. I didnt Djko strikes form in this tournament. He has been a non-factor for too long and this will spur him on for a super american season.

Djokovic is weak on grass. I have way more confidence in him on clay. Murray is the opposite. He is a legit grass and hard court player. Soderling seems really good on grass. Unlucky to get Fed the last 2 years. This could be his breakout tournament on grass.

grass is much faster and ball bounces lower than clay...sod wont have enough time to set up his forehand and go for the lines - the slices will make him net or go long more often than not. Sod best chance was with rafa in the finals with overcast conditions. His time came and it went. Tennis is quick and fortunes change. Djko might not be the best player in grass but I think he begins to find his form in wimbledon and plays some amazing ball. He is a legit top player and has made semis before. This time he makes the finals. He is the beaten down and forgotten horse among all top players and i think he strikes back hard here.

I wonder who is it that could kill him with deadly slices apart from Federer? Haas is not playing, so perhaps Youzhny and if you find two more who are able to use it in such a way, it would be a semi-miracle. The one used on the defense to get into position, which is what you see these days, is not going to do it.

There are only a few players that can rush Soderling on a fast surface. Federer is the obvious choice. Cilic possibly as well but not in his draw. I really don't see any grass court monsters to give Soderling problems. And Soderling's serve will be untouchable on grass.

not worried about soderling anymore for nadal. That monkey is off the back. I would ahve picked him as a qf matchup rather than roddick or djkovich or even hewitt for that matter.

on a lighter side, soderling is only a top seed definding champ killer in grandslams (rafa in 2009 and fed in 2010). Rafa is neither the top seed nor the defending champ. He will be ok. When has soderling ever beaten a number two seed in slams? lol

Soderling on clay for Nadal is easier than Soderling on grass. Nadal can't get the ball as high and will go right in Soderling's strike zone. Soderling's serve on grass is very tough to handle. Clay is tough as it is. Add a lot of speed on the court and you get a massive Roddick serve. So I'm not comfortable with Nadal against Soderling on grass.

All good except the second one. Who would have thought that Lu would make the QF, eh?

Let's keep playing for the QF:

Federer b. Berdych.
Djokovic b. Lu
Murray b. Tsonga
Nadal b. Soda

I don't expect any surprises here.

I try to get it done:

Fed beats Birdy
Lu beats Nole!
Murray beats Tsonga
Söderling beats Nadal!
