Pathetic.

yes, pathetic is the word.......they are totally terrified of the spartan king, praying deep down that he gets knocked out by some clown in the first few rounds so that their favs don't get humiliated.......but little do they know that beating nadal at wimbledon after his clay rampage is quite an uphill task and beating him is not in their hands if rafa hits his zone quickly on grass.......

lastly, soderbugs(sodatards aka rafahaters) are terrified beyond words.......their outward claims of sod being ready to beat rafa in QF are a joke, actually they too don't want nadal to reach the quarters and humiliate soda again.......

1) Arrogant roger loses and can wipe the smug grin off his face
Surely these accusations arent against the 6 time atp sportsmanship award winner and former humanitarian of the year :/ Even rafa himself is quoted as saying 'I admire his humble, no?' Federer epitomizes the meaning of true sportsmanship. Not only will he go down as the greatest player of all time, but probably as the most beloved too. Whether Roger, Rafa or anybody else wins Wimbledon.. none of them will be 'better for the game' than any other.

2) Nadal, a humble champion on his way to GOAT status
Really.. Really? The cries of vamos for a routine winner, the rolling of the eyes whenever somebody has the audacity to hit a winner against him. I wont go into the 2 minutes inbetween points :) And as for 'GOAT' status, I just dont think thats physically possible. As before, it doesnt matter who wins for the better of the game.

3) A non-ugly sister victory, maria wins then attention of WTA will increase by a lot:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Ummm.. right. So 'ugly' people are banned from tennis? The popularity of the game isnt the most important factor, its the state and quality of the game itself.

1. Federer-Roddick semi final
2. Nadal-Murray semi final
3. Fedal final

Ok that may have been somewhat uninspiring, but I have plenty more wishes for Wimbledon beside that - apart for praying for good weather as always. I hope the youngsters in the tournament (Tomic and Berankis for example) make a good account of themselves. In addition, I wish that all players remain healthy as this season has already been marred by what seems like a record number of health problems and withdrawals / retirements. Seeing as some of my favourites such as Ancic, Nalbandian and Gasquet are out even before the start of the tournament, I hope that some others such as Ferrero, Wawrinka, Youzhny, Blake and Soderling do well.

I'd also wish to see a lot of variety in the play during this year's tournament - the topspin backhands alternated at times with the slice, serve & volleying on big points, competitive return games; if slower grass is the cost of seeing the above come to fruition, then so be it.

Oh, and Laura Robson taking a set off Jelena Jankovic on Centre Court would be good.

Surely these accusations arent against the 6 time atp sportsmanship award winner and former humanitarian of the year

Just because he's won these awards doesn't make his smugness any less evident. Those awards are about his influence by way of ATP tour dominace than about the meaning of the awards themselves or his worthiness.

Even rafa himself is quoted as saying 'I admire his humble, no?

:awww:Awww, I just love him. Rafa can be so adorably clueless and plain wrong. I mean, he's a Real Madrid and Lakers fan, ffs. Just because we're fans of him doesn't mean we agree with him on everything.

Federer epitomizes the meaning of true sportsmanship

:yeah: Sure he is.

Really..

:haha::haha::haha:

What are those things to do with humbleness? I've heard Roger say plenty of times "Come On!" after a good point or an opponents error. Maybe you missed the one he belted out after one of Hewitt's shots went long.

As for the GOAT status thing. I agree. It is impossible for Rafa to rack'em up. I'm sure this gives you quite a comfort and glee.

Didn't Federer win the sportsmanship award last year even though he was fined for swearing during the US Open final? Also bringing the '15' jacket after his Wimbledon win over Roddick must have certainly crushed Roddick's spirit and was certainly not very sportsman like.

"I could be an inspiration to the team – they could ask me questions, how I handled the media, how I handled the pressure of playing great every day. but MrChopin, just a few days ago you said this:

He sits around on his couch all day eating cheetos and watching replies of 2004 USO F, 2006 TMC SF, and 2007 AO SF. No time for practice, just more glory. Hopefully he loses to Boggo r1 at Wimbledon, maybe that will shake him from his mummified state of arrogance. Mirka and Mary Jo Fernandez probably take care of the kids and run all the errands too.

Oh, but no. The blatant celebrations in the face of someone that's devasted is the epitome of sportsmanship. Roger's absolute certainity in his dominance over Andy, that he had an article of clothing in recognition of his achievement is the very epitome of humbleness and sportsmanship.

Stefan Edberg sportsmanship award: Fed 6, Nadal 0. But MTF knows better than the players. Nadal wins.

Sure we do. We don't live in that world. I'm sure life is easier for the players that kisses Rogers' ass.

He's saying he could be an inspiration, not that he was the inspiration. But still in this quote is him, him, him. He gives the impression that by the Swiss' victory over Spain is by extension his over Rafa.
