Good, since none of the young players are stepping up to compete with Fedal, let an ex n.1 show them.

Even if he's not winning a single game, it's great to see him back in "real" Tennis! :worship::bowdown:

At least he played with Almagro in some training-sessions, so he must have a little idea about what could be possible. Really looking forward to this Challenger, can't wait to see Tom on the court! :bounce::bigclap:

You probably should inform yourself about such things before talking about it.

The match took place last November and Tom was not in real training before (now 6 days a week, 2 sessions per day) and he won 6:3 6:2. Bammer wasn't #70 but about 40-55 back then. The match was absolutely not leveled but easy for Tom, even when he ran out of steam in the 2nd set a little bit.

LOL...If he's running out of steam in the second set against Sybille Bammer, this is gonna be worse than Borg (who didn't win a single match in his "comeback").

This is a joke. The guy's 42 years old.

I did read the complete post. And the point remains: if you are running out of steam against Sybille Bammer, then no amount of training will allow you to win a single match on the ATP tour...

Sampras has a much better chance of winning Wimbledon 2010 than Muster does of winning a single match on the ATP tour (challenger or ATP level.)

He will surely not play ATP, just Challengers, and just for fun. He doesn't need money, he just loves to be on the court. So what's your problem?

And one thing is sure: The stands will be full... so the fans will also have fun, no matter if he will win or lose.

Those seniors matches usually have more of an exhibition feel to them. Maybe he wants something more serious.

i don´t think he will be able to win a match, but it´s very brave from him, and it´ll be very funny.
he has nothing to prove or to lose, so the pressure will be on his rival´s side.
i always wondered how far could go any ex-top player who returns to the circuit at age 40 or more.

I guess Muster wants to make sure Rafa doesn't overtake his 40 clay titles by winning as many small clay tournaments (e.g. 250 events) as he can :)

Kind draw for Muster as much as it can be for 42 yr old in a challenger against Irish lad Niland.
