Dancevic needs to win these matches if he's gonna be top 50 again though.

With the way Dustin has played lately, every win is a positive for him. Good job Dustin!

As for Frank, he just needs more matches to get in his groove again. If he qualifies for Wimbledon, he'll be dangerous.

I don't see Dustin beating Istomin, it would be nice to see him play Rafa but I just don't think he's consistent enough to win that match.

This was only Frank's second match back after a 9 month layoff following a back injury and surgery (his first was against Berankis at the Nottingham Challenger last week).
He had break points to move *4-0 ahead in the opening set but couldn't take them unfortunately. He needs all the match practice he get at the moment.

Anyway well done to Dreddy :worship:.

Unfortunately he's never cracked the top 50. Many of us who support him have always said that breaking into the top 50 and winning an ATP title should be his major career goals. He has come closing to achieving them, but him putting himself in a position to do so again seems like a long way away at the moment.

Agreed. Frank is about to lose a lot of points. He could be in the 300 range soon if he doesnt start winning. I think at this point just getting some wins under his belt and staying healthy during the hard court season should be the main goals. But there will be definitely be some challengers in his near future to get that ranking back to the top 100 - where on a talent level he belongs.

I hope Dancevic will break again in the top100 and stay there for a few years....he is such a great player....but so full of injuries...as for Brown he shoul beat Istomin and face Nadal in a blockbuster round....(even though he will eventually lose):)

i know he has had some big wins in the past but as you know a grand slam is an entirely different atmosphere and gives an entirely different feeling, i wouldnt count on him making any upsets.

Oh, definitely, I wouldn't count on it or expect it either. I don't think he has the type of mentality to succeed in GS events, and he's just coming back from his injuries. However, if he wins 3 matches in a row, that would show he has some of his game back and his fitness recovered, and I think he is a top 50 grass player if he's playing well, on that alone he can be dangerous, like when he beat Nalby a few years back.

Hope Dancevic can put the injury problems behind him, but excellent win for Dreddy Brown who only arrived on Monday afternoon.

Tough one for Frank  I thought he might be able to turn it around after breaking when Brown served for the match at 5-6* in the second, but he just didn't seem to have it in the third. His serve numbers in the third were really poor, I wouldn't be surprised if he were struggling physically somewhat, especially since he has so little match play recently.

Apparently Brown has a British passport & would be willing to play Davis Cup for Britain.

Another new low if the likes of Dustin Brown needs to save Britain from the joys of Group 2 against the mighty tennis nation of Turkey. :tape:
