wow this really isnt that great for a guy who is being compared to federer . Boggo played well though, gave the home crowd their moneys worth.

GasquetFan 06-08-2010, 12:50 PM Nice win for him :) Chiakifug 06-08-2010, 12:50 PM Boggy :spit: justsumma 06-08-2010, 12:51 PM I almost feel sorry for Boggo. Mug quality overall StatRacket 06-08-2010, 12:51 PM Dimitrov stumbles over the line, was down break point in that last game. Shame for him that this win is only worth 10 ATP points. Plays F.Lopez next. vn01 06-08-2010, 12:51 PM YES.BRAVO GRISHA.He didn't play very well, but won.Next is Lopez.DAVAI GRIGORE out_here_grindin 06-08-2010, 12:51 PM Dimitrov looked bad. But a needed win gaitare 06-08-2010, 12:51 PM Dimitrov's game looking less and less like Federer's, and I don't mean it in a bad way. Maybe that's a good sign. rocketassist 06-08-2010, 12:52 PM More entertaining than Sunday's RG final. Dimitrov is waaay overrated although his game is very fun to watch- look at the top 20 now and you can see finesse players bar Federer are a rare commodity. Boggo sucks anyway. martyn 06-08-2010, 12:52 PM Why is this kid so highly rated, and liked? Looked distictly average to me, cheered opponents UE's and thumped his heart at the end after a moderately tough run and half decent defensive lob was made a hash of by Boggo. lazybear 06-08-2010, 12:53 PM Grigor may never will be the player lot of us envision him to be, but nonetheless, he's a pleasure to watch. He really has all the talent in the world. Too bad talent alone won't be enough to succeed. Hopefully he can put it all together sooner than later. FlameOn 06-08-2010, 12:55 PM Finally he wins a match. ;yeah: scarecrows 06-08-2010, 12:55 PM good win bad loss BigSoftPunch 06-08-2010, 12:57 PM I saw nothing today and yesterday that reminded me of Federer His movement is awful, his backhand is distinctly average, he doesn't have the flair, his main strength that I've seen over the last year or so has been his serve SwiSha 06-08-2010, 01:02 PM Boggo played well though, gave the home crowd their moneys worth. i dunno what match u just watched lazybear 06-08-2010, 01:04 PM I saw nothing today and yesterday that reminded me of Federer His movement is awful, his backhand is distinctly average, he doesn't have the flair, his main strength that I've seen over the last year or so has been his serve That's a bit harsh. I think his forehand can be elite. He can generate great pace with it, he can hit it flat, he can generate great angles with it. Yes, he doesn't have the same flair as Roger, but is that neccesserely a bad thing? His serve is really good already, as you pointed out, and he just turned 19. Some great players needed a little more time than others, to put it all together. lazybear 06-08-2010, 01:05 PM double post, sorry ossie 06-08-2010, 01:06 PM this clown finally wins a match .-Federers_Mate-. 06-08-2010, 01:07 PM i dunno what match u just watched for his standards ApproachShot 06-08-2010, 01:10 PM Both Dimitrov and Boggo needed a win albeit for different reasons. I thought Boggo had a pretty good chance of taking it after the end of the first set yesterday. Perhaps the rain interrupted his rhythm a little? Nothing spectacular from Dimitrov and ultimately he did just enough to take him over the line. It's a bit of a shame really - since 2006 when he won the Orange Bowl I thought might become a great player on hard courts and on grass. I think he's lost some of the flair from the time when he first started to play professional matches. The similarities with Federer were more pronounced not just because of the good serve, effective forehand and single handed backhand, but because of the fact that he too won the Junior tourment at Wimbledon and was coached by Lundgren who brought the Federer comparison to prominence by saying that Dimitrov was technically better than Federer was at his age. I hope he's able to make best use of his obvious talent but I somehow doubt the trajectory of his playing career will quite reach the heights of his idol ;) But still, he's only just turned 19. Give the lad a chance before shooting him down. misty1 06-08-2010, 01:21 PM i dont think anyone should have expected great things from grigor in this match, he came in needing confidence and a win and now that he has the win maybe he has gained a little confidence and he can start to play better. madmanfool 06-08-2010, 01:41 PM Shame for him that this win is only worth 10 ATP points You joking right? He only has 102 points in total, so 10 points is around 10% of his total. Sounds like a lot to me. If Nadal won 10% of his total it would mean 870 points. Chair Umpire 06-08-2010, 01:44 PM wow this really isnt that great for a guy who is being compared to federer . I see that now some Fedtards feel threaten by Grigor. Are you going to become a Dimi-hater now? There's no need for this. Leave the kid alone. andy neyer 06-08-2010, 01:48 PM I think Dimi sacked Lundgren a few days ago so he's been following Roger's footsteps in that matter too. Hope this kid makes it big. I think he will. Corey Feldman 06-08-2010, 01:50 PM  nid with Boggo and his winning 1st set but losing in 3 story of his life .-Federers_Mate-. 06-08-2010, 01:51 PM I see that now some Fedtards feel threaten by Grigor. Are you going to become a Dimi-hater now? There's no need for this. Leave the kid alone. :haha: come back to me, when dimitrov wins against anyone other than boggo or a Gs match ;) .-Federers_Mate-. 06-08-2010, 01:51 PM and no i don't think highly of Dimitrov misty1 06-08-2010, 01:56 PM why is the grigor bashing so immense here? he's struggling right now so what what tennis player in their career has not struggled at some point or another? gaynor 06-08-2010, 02:03 PM for his standards So how Boggo matches have you watched recently then? Boggo was shit today, way too passive and lots of poor errors. Boggo playing half decent would probably have won that match. latso 06-08-2010, 02:30 PM Not the greatest match indeed, but solid display for Grisho anyway, against the odds, following a long and slow recovery from wristle injury. He won against a guy with more practice on grass than the top 10 guys taken together, one that came from qualies, winning a few matches already, so the win is good for the confidence indeed. In any case i wasn't expecting to see praising or smth here, coz if he wins he's terrible/lucky/the oponent sux/etc, if he loses it's like the same, so haters will always be haters anyway. The Lalo match will ne intersting. The latter isn't shining much, though he has a lot in the serve and being a leftie won't help much, though it might be tighter than the haters expect. vn01 06-08-2010, 02:43 PM I promised that if Lopez defeat Grigor I'll change my avatar from Rafa to Feli. Filo V. 06-08-2010, 02:48 PM Grigor played about as well as I expected him to. He showed flashes of his brilliance. He played like someone without confidence, and he's always been overrated, anyone who has watched him play can see he will not be a #1 guy unless he shows some really dramatic improvement. But the talent is there to be a high level player. He shouldn't be bashed because of the high expectations, players grow on their own pace. He's dealt with some injuries and the pressure is going to be hard for any kid to take. He'll be fine and within time will be shutting haters up. As far as Boggo, Grigor obviously was the better/more talented player today, and really, I hope this loss and the way he played in the match takes him out of contention for a WC. He's just not that good. FedererBulgaria 06-08-2010, 03:03 PM You cant say GRIGOR is bad,he sux at the moment! But the big game is there!Go boy Hellraiser 06-08-2010, 03:28 PM sold out by "serbian player" chowdahead25 06-08-2010, 03:43 PM If Boggo gets a WC to Wimby, I'm not watching. Tutu 06-08-2010, 04:22 PM Win is a Win. Shot selection is his biggest problem, he misses too many easy shots and his shots are a touch too light and need more depth/heavy topspin on them. Still, a win is a win and I hope he takes confidence from this. rocketassist 06-08-2010, 04:26 PM If Boggo gets a WC to Wimby, I'm not watching. I've been on the 'had enough chances' wagon for a long time, but now I've seen you are, I hope he does now. :) *Jean* 06-08-2010, 05:11 PM Grigor :D Jimnik 06-08-2010, 07:18 PM Dimitrov is nothing but a serve. No consistency from the back of the court whatsoever. His game looks nice but he's miles away from the top 100. He needs confidence. Classic Boggo, gifting the break away with two DFs. He never had the nerve to be consistent top 100. Allegretto 06-08-2010, 07:19 PM Good to see Boggo giving two fingers to the LTA in his post-match interview. spanish_army 06-08-2010, 08:07 PM I saw nothing today and yesterday that reminded me of Federer His movement is awful, his backhand is distinctly average, he doesn't have the flair, his main strength that I've seen over the last year or so has been his serve +1 The Magician 06-08-2010, 08:47 PM Can't wait to bump this thread in a few years when this is the Wimby final  Two of the most talented players in the game, once they get the mental game together nothing should stop the Bulgarian Beast and Boggo the Beatstick  ApproachShot 06-08-2010, 09:27 PM Good to see Boggo giving two fingers to the LTA in his post-match interview. Absolutely. Yes, he's lost in the first round at Wimbledon for something nigh on 8 years in a row but other than Murray he has the best chance to win a match. He is the British number 2 after all. Also, wasn't he left out of the Davis cup team as well? The outcome in the last match against Lithuania might have been different had he been selected. Can't help feeling that he was made somewhat of a scapegoat for the LTA's shortcomings and the failure of British tennis to provide the depth world class talent despite the money that is being pushed around. Geo 06-09-2010, 02:03 AM good to see he won, but let's see how Dimitrov does against better players. Bogdanovic   such a waste of a wc every year during the brief grass season  :o Navratil 06-09-2010, 07:01 AM 1 1/2 years ago I really thought Dimitrov is the next big Super star. But even this win - one of his few main draw wins - was not convincing at all. Tutu 06-09-2010, 07:06 AM Dimitrov is nothing but a serve. No consistency from the back of the court whatsoever. His game looks nice but he's miles away from the top 100. He needs confidence. Classic Boggo, gifting the break away with two DFs. He never had the nerve to be consistent top 100.
