Will Djokovic win another Grand Slam ever?

Djokovic has one slam to his name, the Australian back in 2008, do you reckon he will win another. I think he will win the US open one year as Federer is getting older and Nadal doesn't do as well their as the balls are lighter (Said by Gred Resedksi!)

Hey! Why not? He's young and he's such a good player.

Maybe once Roger retires and Rafa's injuries force him into an early retirement.

For sure, he's got at the very least 20 slams left to play for.

I would like to hope that he can. I'll say yes.

I'd like to say yes, but with each passing slam, Djokovic's and Murray's chances diminish a bit more. I'm not sure I see the passion in Djokovic anymore.

Maybe US Open? It's his best slam.

He can't even win the "Nole Open" anymore much less a slam.

MTF would implode and create a black hole that would destroy Earth. :p

Of course he can. People said Rafa would never win another slam. Look how that turned out. Okay, Nole may not be quite so talented as Nadal (or completely dominant on one surface) but it shows that counting people out like that is senseless.

With his talent, he could win a few more, certainly.

Novak always goes through hot and cold patches, right now it's a cold patch.

He just turned 23, he's got plenty of time. I say yes for sure.

He should have a handful of slams now.. Instead his still sitting on that one sole slam he won over 2 years ago.. Realistically, yes he should win quite a few. Definitely more than one. He can play on clay and both hardcourts.. But hes been in tank mode for the better part of a year and a half and like someone else said, I dont think he has the passion anymore.. He seems more content with just doing enough to be a top player but not being a champion. So who knows.. I havent seen him play top level tennis in a long time

Don't sleep on Nole, peoples!:fiery: Yeah, sure compared to Rafa and Roger and a few other greats, they'd won multiple slams by Novak age, but that isn't the norm. I haven't lost faith in his talent.

Seeing that federer's era is finally coming to an end I would say maybe.I think quite possibly the AO. as he will be well rested.

I dunno, I'm really sad Nole fan, it looks like he lost a lot of passion/fire..That stupid HEAD racquet that doesn't fit his game at all doesn't help either..

FlameOn
06-07-2010, 11:47 PM
Eh...I don't think so. Despite being Top 5, he hasn't looked close to winning a slam since '08. I'll always be his fan but I think the fire's gone.

Bagelicious
06-07-2010, 11:50 PM
Um, for all those saying the fire has gone, he still has time to find it again. He's no favourite of mine, but I think he can - he has the game and time on his side.

Of late, he loses to a lot of people at slams. Murray definitely has a better shot at the moment.

Definitely, he has at least a couple more hard court Slams in him.

Tennis wins if he doesn't.

But it would be a loss to the literary world to be deprived of Nole's second monography, "My Second Grand Slam".

Just out of pure logics..
Fed is still good, but he is, unquestionably, fading, he is no longer dominant on _any_ surface, and that will only get worse.
Nadal will never be dominant on faster surfaces, so he is not going to fully fill 2-3 Slams-an-year space that is being now gradually vacated by Fed.
Any new dominant player? Not on the horizon. At this point, at least. So, Djokovic, Murray, Potro got to be winning some Slams in coming years.
Problem with Djokovic.. He is reasonably good everywhere, but he is not exceptionally good anywhere. He is not going to win RG/W any time soon, unless the draw makes a schiavone to him. He is a great hardcourt player, but super-Saturday/Sunday system at US Open will always work against him, as physique-wise, he is weaker than other contenders. So, AO seems to still be his best chance in next years.

Djokovic hasn't been playing his best tennis this year because of his breathing problems and having hired the wrong coach... But yes, it is definitely possible that he can win another grand slam and win many more if he pulls himself together and especially improve his serve. He's got talent and he's still very young, I would say he is going to play better and better this year.

06-08-2010, 02:09 AM
My personal opinion is that Djokovic has been well below his standard these last 12 months. I don't see it happening soon (winning a slam), but certainly some time in the future it can happen.

Johnny Groove
06-08-2010, 02:40 AM
Surely he'll win one more.

Then again, so should Roddick.

heya
06-08-2010, 03:22 AM
Djokovic loves to be a champster.
Roddick wants to reproduce more loser Roddicks.....and he wants Federer to win no matter what happens.
If O.J. Simpson
was a tennis player, Roddick'd promote him with glee. :o

He can win but if it's asthma he's got as has been rumored, he has to get that under control.Don't know which meds are allowed though. Allergies further aggravate asthma and at the Serbia Open they said he had bronchitis exascerbated by the allergies. He has a weak immune system and I don't see more than one/two GS's for him.

I Fed hadn't had Mono in 08 Nole would still be slamless and hasn't made a final since then so the answer is NO!!

Tonkie13
06-08-2010, 08:10 AM
Chances are about 75 %, can't go against that, i think seeing it now, for the USO he's the top player in the field with Andy M. But first we'll see how he does at Wimby, of course everyone thinks he can't play on grass, with his 2008 and 09 shock 2nd round defeats, but in 2009 he lost to the player who made the semi's so that's not so bad, and in 08 Verdasco, always a threat :(. But people can't seem to remember 07, when he did reach the semi's on grass, but of course in the semi's he was having the asthma, and he couldn't do anything then retire, but he did take a set of Rafael and he nearly beat roger back then!!!!
But first we'll see what happens in Queens, hope he reaches the finals, good luck Joker!

yeah federer had mono, so what own fault, that was not the reason he lost AO he got mono afterwards, so djoko deserved that win!:):worship:

no chance, he just isnt talented enough. Unless he is quitting matches, he is getting outplayed by guys with better forehands ala davydenkoo, better backhands ala federer, better slice ala murray, better volleys ala haas, more tenacity eg ferrer, more power eg tsonga etc

Don't make me laugh.Djokovic has got a better backhand than Federer.Of course Federer has a better forehand and is better in every other department of the game but backhand no.Djok's backhand can be defensive, aggressive and really effective both ways.Maybe Fed's got better slices for grass but on every other surface Djokovic's backhand is better and remember it's not Djokovic's backhand that gets schooled by Rafa every time they meet

nah, I don't think so. His BH sucks. His FH is not good enough. I'm not sure how he has managed to be #1 in the world this year. Strange thing. I think he was lucky this year. Well he did win 3 majors but it was all luck, no skills. It's all about luck, lol. I got a lottery ticket today. I hope I can get lucky too.

i'm so pleased for nole really. what an amazing year- lets hope he can repeat it again for next year

tennis is like a water- always flowing, when you watch the tide you think its static and then its changed before you know it.
