Well, it's coming up really soon- September 20-22 huh? Perfect... it HAS to be on the days that I have my little high school tennis tournment that I have to be at. They're at about 1 am, Western time, huh? Anyone know for sure?
So, the line up is Andy, James, Mardy Fish, and Todd Martin- they say that Pete Sampras isn't playing cos he's still in an emotional state cos of the US Open win. I dunno about Mardy Fish- I haven't seen him play much. But Patrick McEnroe wants the best team and I guess he knows more than I do. Personally, it'd be heaven if JMG were playing instead. Oh wow.
Andy and James are playings single, of course, cos they rock. James was thinking about singles and doubles- guess he likes singles more (don't blame him- I do too). So that leaves Todd Martin and Mardy Fish for doubles. Go team!
The French team are Sebastien Grosjean, Arnaud Clement, Fabrice Santoro and Michael Llodra. Grosjean and Clement will probably play singles, leaving Santoro and Llodra with doubles. Good for them- Andy'll beat both Grosjean and Clement!
Go Team USA!

What do you think about the chance of a USA victory?
I haven't seen much of James Blake playing on clay. Is he good? Thank goodness Sampras won't play, it saved Pat MaC's energy.
Sorry to French fans, but I do want to see a USA victory. We may have more Andy in action, just want to see him. Damn I don't have ESPN at home.

lol, heh, i want a USA victory too, but it's gonna be hard, after all, the French is the defending champ. I do believe that Andy and James are capable to defeat them though, so hopefully they'll play well.

but oh well he did play very well, and clement just emerged on top. great match!

That's so sad. He played really well, I think. Not easy to play on clay anyway. Still hope he can do better.
Who watch that match? What really happened?
09-21-2002, 09:30 AM
I watched the match, I think Andy played really well actually. He just didn't capitalize on the break points that he got. I felt he actually played a really great match. certainly a big improvement from the match against Sampras.

james and todd won their doubles match so we're still in it...hopefully we can win both matches tomorrow
09-22-2002, 04:01 AM
Finger crossed! Wish them both best luck ( I mean Andy and James)!
It is said that Andy and James got so frustrated that they made the locker room dusty by kicking their shoes. Hope they would feel better after that! :)))))))))
Why is so quiet here recently? Where's everybody?
09-22-2002, 01:07 PM
aieee!!! grosjean did play very well tho.

It's ok that Andy lost- I'm sure a lot of us are really shocked that he lost... if he won, all of us would be in this MSGB, screaming and jumping up and down! But it's ok- it just wasn't his week. He'll get it next year... it's totally ok babe. He lost but I'm sure him and Pat Mc have some things to go over of why he lost and Tarik could get some ideas of what to do to improve Andy's playing. This will loss will build Andy up- we still love and support Andy anyways, win or lose, so what's the big deal? WE STILL LOVE YOU BABE! MMUAH! So smile Andy-lovers... nothing to be ashamed of cos our baby will be back, better than ever... we got to the semis... it's step-by-step and he'll show them all.
