Santi lucked out as a lucky loser, he would have played Monaco but instead he plays Seppi in R1. Much more winnable match.

Q Paire vs. Rochus (winnable)
Q Reister vs. Lopez
Q Galvani vs. Montanes
Q Kamke vs. Robert (winnable)
Q Witten vs. Baghdatis (I honestly think Witten can win this)
Q Somdev vs. Chiudinelli (very winnable)
Q Aguilar vs. Berdych
Q Yani vs. Lacko (winnable)
Q Patience vs. De Bakker (slightly winnable)
Q Gaba vs. Koellerer (very winnable)
Q Zemlja vs. Monaco
Q Schukin vs. Ram (with the way he's playing, R3 is possible)
LL Ventura vs. Seppi (very winnable)
Q Alves vs. Gonzalez (interesting match---remember US Open battle vs. Fed)
Q Andujar vs. Q Bolelli (Simone needs to win)
Q Fischer vs. Zeballos (winnable)

The next LL would play likely Gimeno-Traver in place of Dima, which is a pretty winnable match. If Gicquel withdraws a LL would play Riba, another winnable match. If Picasso withdraws the opponent would be Ball, a really winnable match.

I know Paire is young and a bit unproven, but he could make R3 with his draw. Somdev can make R3 too with his draw, and Simone can at least challenger Bellucci/Llodra. If Patience wins his R1 over De Bakker, which will be tough, he would play likely GGL which is hard but also winnable. Yuri has a REALLY good opportunity with the way he is playing for a R3 with Oscar/Hanescu is R2 match.

There are really good opportunities for these guys, hopefully some of them take advantage.

I think, Rochus is not a good draw for Paire. Rochus is not the kind of player who use give up during a point. Paire don't like this kind of runners who can easily fight for play his deadly crazy chop !

True, but Paire CAN hit Rochus off the court, IF he is consistent. Depends on how he plays, his confidence level must be high right now and he's going to have the crowd on his side. Rochus is a major fighter but it's hard to do much when winners are being smacked by the opponent, which is what I can see happening.
