All the seeds inside top 120 pretty good if you ask me, also four top 100 players. Great to see Luczak going to be back to defend his title i think he should fairly easily, espically because the only player ranked higher then him he played about a fortnight or more ago and he won 6-2 6-2

my opinion about the field is based on the entry lists they had in past years(with mayer, de bakker & schwank last year for example)
given the tournament has been downgraded from 75k to 42.5k its very good of course

but judging from the ranking positions its even better than last year

Nice entry list in my opinion. I think one of the German players is going to win the event. Personally, I wish one of RRH, Santi or Oscar win so they can get near/in the top 100.

I expect a Luczak v. Brands or King final. I think Flo will lose early. I expect Oscar to beat Gruel. I think either RRH or Minar will make the SF. I also think Dustin will lose R1 again.

All in all, a nice tournament, like the draw a lot. Good luck to my favorites!

Oscar 'the King' is in pretty bad form, it's difficult he could go ahead here. RRH should win one round at least.

Nevertheless the upper side of the draw is much harder. Kindlmann, Flo Mayer, RRH, Haase, Minar, Luczk, Klizan...
For that I bet the winner will come from the bottom half.

Brands is my option here.

Filo V.
06-01-2010, 02:20 AM
Oscar has about as good a draw as he could ask for here. Guez has been pretty terrible this year and is a pusher basically so Oscar should win that. Then a WC, then probably Gruel, which will be difficult, but much less so than Luczak, Brands or Mayer IMO. I think he can make the SF, if he plays Brands he'll probably lose, if he gets someone else he can make the final.

I still think a German will win this event, though.

I wish it were a RRH vs. Oscar final, but I can't see it happening.

That is a big time loss for your ranking. I mean, I know Reister did good last week, but Peter should win that, and to lose 6-1 in the 3rd? Where did your form go?

Haase beating Flo is not a surprise. Robin is so talented and he probably should have beaten Almagro last week. Flo is coming off sickness and barely won his R1.

I just hope Ruben beats Kindlmann, but I'm pretty sure he wont. Still definitely sure one of the remaining Germans will win the event.

Millot def. Brands 6-4 2-6 6-3. Big surprise.

I think Kamke or Kindlmann will win the event. I hope Greul does, though.

Just came back from Fürth:

Haase beat Kindlmann 6:4, 6:2. The first set was pretty entertaining, but in the second both players made more and more errors. Haases much better service (in one game he made four aces in a row!) decided the match.

Reister beat Kukushkin 7:6 (7:5), 7:6 (7:1). Only saw the second set. Kukushkin with an early break, then Reister with two breaks but finally it resulted in another tiebreak which Reister easily dominated. All in all a decent match (or at least second set), but both players also made many errors. More errors than I had expected, to be honest. Funny: The first set lasted a little bit longer than the whole match Haase vs. Kindlmann (both began at the same time) ...

Greul beat Zimmermann 6:1, 6:3. As expected Greul dominated the match. In the last 20 minutes Zimmermann played better (especially with his until then desastrous backhand) but Greul finished his service games without bigger problems.

who do you think makes the final after what youve seen?

Well, difficult to say since Greul had the weakest opponent. Nonetheless I think he should win since he seems to be in a very solid shape (despite his first-round-loss in Paris). My guess: The final will be Greul vs. Haase (Reisters game seems a little bit too inconsistent to me, maybe he´s also getting tired since he played three French Open-qualification matches, three French Open-matches and now three matches in Fürth within the last two or three weeks). And Greul will win it in three sets. :)

Kamke won 6-4 in the third.

Simon :ras:

Tobias is showing his RG wasn't a fluke for a week, but I want to see him outside of Germany before we'll really see if this is a long lasting run or just a burst of playing above his true level.

The final is seriously unpredictable, I think it will go 3 sets for sure. I guess I'll say Haase as the victor.

i agree, very tough final to call mainly because of kamke.

seems to be pumped up playing in front of home crowd.

haase has beaten 3 germans back to back, 4 too many maybe.
