Really, really good entry list here.

If Montanes/Dolgo/Hanescu get pushed back another day or win tomorrow, I wouldn't expect them to show up here. There will probably be different WCs for some bigger names if that is the case.

Stepanek likely coming back here, that's great, hopefully he does well in his comeback in front of the home fans.

Jan plays well in his home country, I think he has a chance to defend the title.

I think Jarkko has a chance to go deep here.

I think the Slovenes Zemlja and Kavcic can take their form to this event and do well.

If Dolgo does play, I think he is the favorite, along with Montanes if he plays.

Can't wait until next week for this event to start!

Damn, two of my Chris and Jan have to play each other in R1. And Steve and Oli. Schukin/Golubev is dangerous in that section too.

Montanes/Gil rematch on the cards. I guess Albert will take that easily.

Radek, with his sickness, I don't expect much from him. I think Alberto will beat him in R1. Nice to have him back.

Jan has a decent chance to get past to the SF, but I don't seem him beating Montanes if they play.

I expect a Jarkko/Darcis vs. Montanes final. Good luck to my favorites!

I really didn't want Radek to win. I like him somewhat but I prefer Alberto, and Beto needs the points more. I don't want an ATP guy winning this event and I don't like the fact ATP guys are even here. The only thing I can accept is that Radek just coming back from sickness, so it's understandable in his case, but the other guys are just points stealers. I'm glad Sexy is back, he brings a presence to the tour not many if any can recreate. I just hope he doesn't win the event.

They update the draw with all completed matches through the day, so check the draw at their website later (some time after rain stops and they satrt playing again) and the result might be there.

Yeah, his level has dropped considerably of late. Probably getting worn down from playing a lot of tennis. I'm not surprised by Pospisil. He always seems to have a good run in this area of the world like once a season, and then he goes away. He has had a pretty good draw. Good fighting from him, definitely helped by playing in front of home country fans. I wouldn't be shocked if he beat Gil either.

Thank you :D I expected this could happen because Jaroslav seems to be on a hot streak and the fact it's in his home country and been fighting back in his victories, I thought he might ride that wave of positivity into winning today, and he did!

Anything can happen in tennis, exactly. Not all surprising losses are fixes. Not all loses from ahead are chokes either. Sometimes it is the opponent playing well that creates these results. I give total credit to Pospisil as being a future level player having a great week.

Radek wins 7-5 6-4.

Jarkko played poorly, Radek served well when it mattered, was aggressive, and fully deserves the win. His forehand was pretty shaky, though.

I think Golubev has a decent chance at winning tomorrow over Radek, but Steps is clearly the favorite. Jan should beat Pospisil. We could be seeing an all Czech final between Hajek and Stepanek!

BTW anyone knows why he did not play French Open ?

he missed some tournaments because of fatigue (or mononucleosis) and either he knew he wouldn't be fit/recovered for Roland Garros or it seemed playing a Grand Slam as first tournament, with best of 5 sets matches, wouldn't be the best choice.

Radek wins 6-3 6-2, Golubev played horribly, Steps played his best match of the week.

Hajek vs. Stepanek final, I think Radek will win it.

Health complications prevented Stepanek to fight till the end

After an unequivocal development of the first set Radek Stepanek threw in the towel in the seventeenth final of UniCredit Czech Open, in which he fought against Jan Hajek for the possibility to acquire the third title at the Prostejov’s challenger. The unlucky finalist commented on the cause of the defeat. Why did you throw in the towel? "I felt sick at the beginning of the set but I hoped it would pass, however, then I had to go to the toilet and felt something was wrong today. I am sorry it all turned out like this but I couldn’t do anything about it. I hope to recover soon and go on with my comeback."

I'm very unhappy about Radek. Not about the general loss, but because his problems seem to continue. Mono is a crap disease, and he is not the youngest around anymore  I wonder if it's possible he can ever come back to top 20. Doubt that.

Very very sad for Radek. Mono is such a serious illness, one of my friends I remember had it in middle school, and she was literally still getting sick on a more than regular basis when we went to high school. Hopefully they can find something to help him get over his sickness so it doesn't further impact his tennis.

Congrats to Jan for defending his title.

Such a strange way that the results headed during the week. Congratulations for Hajek for the victory though. It will be a real shame to find Radek out of the courts again.
