Worst Open Era semifinal of Masters Series event.

Good luck Ferrer, you have a big chance in final.

Pained expression on Nando's face at the end. This guy must be dead tired. Rest up.

Verdasco ran out of gas after three weeks' of grueling tennis, he was panting for breath at the end of the match.

Verdasco was tired from the last match.

Obviously Verdasco ran out of gas. Still, blowing a 5-1 lead in the 1st set shouldn't have happened. :help:

Congrats, Pics! :hearts: :hatoff:
Fought for what he's worthy off. Best of luck tomorrow David, you'll need it.

Verdasco had lost it once he lost that double break. Pretty awful match but not really surprising when you have a guy tired after a long hot streak and a gridner on the other side.

I doubt that tomorrow's BYE will change into a real match.

Nando was way too tired, he ran out of gas in the first and David never looked back. It was too be expected after more than three weeks of tennis and before that he was in Miami and Indian Wells too both in doubles and Singles in all events. He looked like a zombie out there. Regardless he can only be proud of himself. Get some rest Nando and we will see you in Madrid.

Congrats to David, his first final ever! As for the people complaining from the Spanish Armada I will only say this, if the top players deserved to be in the semis or finals they would be. They got outplayed or did not make it for whatever reason, quit your bitching it is what it is. Nando made it to the semis because he deserved to win yesterday and Ferrer made it to the Finals because he deserved to be there. Expect the same in Madrid and Roland Garros! VAMOS!

good luck ferrer in the final, he will need a tonne of it.

Good win for David, I think his first ever Masters final! Actually relieved Nando lost, he really needs to go rest now  He can be definitely proud of his clay season so far.

FFS, can you write a sentence other than some variation of Nadal has bye? Please, tell us who is not a bye and you wouldn't whine, but if possible in the thread that actually concerns Nadal and his match.

He should have won the first set to love or 6-1. He started serving poorly, Ferrer started putting the ball in the court, and the rest is history.

Nando looked like a beaten man at the end, physically and mentally. Hopefully he uses this next week to rest completely before Madrid.

As far as Ferrer, he mostly grinded and took advantage of a weathered opponent. Going to take more than that to beat Rafa.

So glad that Ferrer won. His first Masters final!! If Verdasco had won he would have been beaten by Nadal 6-0 6-0.
At least Ferrer will make for a more interesting final.

He wasn't tired, he was hurt in some way. That's obvious.

It's two different things. He has the stamina to play forever, but he couldn't move.

Anyway...I'm proud of Nando and he's had an amazing season so far.

Looked like he was tired and hurt, or possibly got hurt because he was so tired. The matches he played during these past weeks played a major factor. It was simply too much for his body. But Nando has clearly proven himself as the second best form player on clay currently.

Some good ranking points for Ferrer too, jumps from 17th to 12th, ahead of Gonzo, and only 200 points off Cilic.

I more than agree with that. He has beaten Soderling, Djokovic, Djokovic, Ferrer in just a matter of weeks.

happy for ferrer.. but the quality of this masters has been really poor, looks more like a 500 event.

Expected when you are missing three guys in the top ten (granted Roddick is mediocre on clay and Fed loses his first match, and good clay players like Ferrero and Gonzalez are out early or missing as well.

Almost no clay match is interesting when it involves Nadal. You already know who's gonna win. Nadal is too far and away the best player on clay, it's getting boring.

Didn't Verdasco run out of gas a long time ago? it was just winning the first set which was key. I am certain that if GGL or Djoko had won the first set, he would have been gone earlier.
