Congratulations, Bellucci! :D

Good luck against Djokovic now, you'll need it. :p

Isnah not far away from a stonking clay win.

Perhaps Madrid is his shot, the serve will be unplayable there. Bit surprised he's going to Belgrade next week though, Munich is far more suitable to his game (and better prep for Madrid too).

Well, where are all those guys who said that Isner always wins close sets? He could have won both sets here...

Well done Thomaz, no second set letdown for once (apart from briefly being a break down). The match vs Novak will be fun.

GL against Nole, I'd love to see him win.

good win for Bellucci  :yeah:

Isner did well IMO-he won his 1st match and lost a tough one today.

Happily surprised match as he 1) won on straight sets, by 2) not letting down in the second and going to third, and especially 3) winning a tie-break. When was the last time this happened?

Last fall in Stockholm. He lost all of his tiebreakers this year. Which makes beating Isner in a tiebreaker all the more impressive, clay or not.

As far as John, pretty successful start to the clay season for him, beating Zeballos, and being a break up in the second and coming close in the first. Hopefully takes some confidence with him towards future tournaments on clay.
