Is this the same guy that played Kohlschreiber a couple of weeks ago? Wow! 1,000 percent better clay court tennis from Murray. I agree with you raahaat, I would have had my money on Seppi going into this one...

Made the most of a nice opening round draw, but it will be interesting to see what he does against Ferrer in R3.

After the debacle in IW and Miami, "decent" is brilliant! At least he is back on the right track.

Agreed but after today's win he will fancy his chances. Seppi is no easy pray on clay.

Murray was OK today but Seppi was mediocre at best. David Ferrer will beat Murray easily unless Murray really steps it up.

im not so sure about Ferrer beating Murray easily...he sholud be happy with any kind of win...as he sucks in Rome

Glad that Muzza is putting his crap together. I don't see him beating the claymashine Ferrer though.

Murray was too good for Seppi unfortunately. Murray seemed to have much more time on the ball. Too many nothing shots from Andreas.

Oh well, at least Andy won a match this week. :o

Decent start, he played a good match. Glad he faces a test like Pics now, it will see where his level's at.

Ferrer usually runs out of gas at this point in the season, after MC+Barca in consecutive weeks. He didn't look too energetic against Korolev, very little on his groundies (fortunately Korolev was more interested in pulverising the ball 3 metres long every rally rather than playing tennis).

Hopefully he can keep it going here. Too bad he has to play Ferrer, though.

This was a good performance, but it is hard to actually put stock into this match, since Seppi has basically no weapons, and Murray can do what he wanted. Lets see if he can translate this type of play against an aggressive baseliner like Ferrer.

Shud be a gr8 match. But Ferrer is a clear fav.

Confidence booster for Murray to get back to winning ways. Sterner test against Ferrer.

That hotdog down the line winner by Seppi was sensational. Loved it! Wish the draw had been kinder to him.

Muzza has too much game fro the likes of Seppi. Good to see him get over the 1st round curse!!!!!! He'll be OK!

Good tennis from Murray. But he seriously needs to do something about his forehand.

There is not much he can do...his forehand always sucked (especially on clay).

I'd argue the surface suits it more- loopy, too much spin. Watch his matches at RG last year, it was his backhand that was sucking.

His backhand side can suck in some matches/tournaments but overall there is no question about it: his forehand is his major weakness and his backhand is his major weapon. There is no power behind his forehands, which makes it worse on slower surfaces like clay. Basically on his forehand side he's forced to play more defensively during points and the only real agression (when it rarely comes) comes from his backhand side. Murray has a lot of weapons but forehand is not one of them. I believe that is one of the main reasons why he's such a defensive player. I'm sorry to say this, but Murray will never be attacking player...I mean he tries to be more agressive in certain matches when he's REALLY forced to and more often than not ends up losing those matches simply because attack is not his NATURAL GAME...ocassionally it works but when push comes to shove, when he's under REAL pressure during break point/set points he reverts to his defensive game. That is why he will most likely never achieve any signifficant results on clay.

Murray is improving his form from earlier this year. He will peak again during the na hc season.
