No one knows what to expect from Murray. I'd like MTF to vote on this. Will be funny to compare prognosis with the match result :p

This is the type of match that could REALLY go either way, and is completely unpredictable. Andreas has not been playing well for a while and hasn't won back to back matches in an ATP tournament in nearing a year. Andy has clearly been struggling since Australia. The home crowd could help Andreas, or it could put a lot of pressure on him to perform. I guess I'll pick Andy in straight sets, but anything could happen.

Fast clay, so I'll go with Murray

Yep, either result wouldn't be a shock, although there are a couple of good points in Murray's favour:

1. Motivation - badly needs to start winning again and in a commitment tournament such as this you'd expect him to be ready to take the game seriously again. A poor clay court season will NOT help him in his quest for a Slam title...needs to be confident that he can grind matches out even on a bad day, and being seeded something like #5-6 (for US Open as an example) would unnecessarily complicate matters.

2. Seppi - obviously a more talented player on this surface (but not immensely talented), moves well and works hard...but lacks a real killer instinct and a big shot. Generally, that isn't the recipe to beat Murray.

Expecting Murray to win today, but I doubt he'll be staying in Rome for more than a couple more days.

If Murray doesn't win this he may as well go on holiday until Queens!
