i know this two might have fans here but this was the worst stuff ive seen in ages

I saw bad challenger matches, some awful futures matches and a few bad ones in my local club

but this one beats them all....after all 2 pros were playing tennis out there

Juan came off as someone playing through injury to me, he didn't seem 100% there to me, obviously that's because of the wrist. His mental strength and consistency on big points won him this match.

As far as Igor, he has gone as far as a first serve and big loopy forehand can take you. He's simply too inconsistent, too one-dimensional, and too mentally weak. For someone with his type of game, he should do better on clay than he has.

Monaco too.

Monaco can be more defensive, or more attacking, he's not one dimensional that way. Igor can't play defense. His game is to go for everything on the forehand, and misses half the time. He has nothing else to rely on, and it isn't like he can tone it down and stay in rallies, since he has a liability of a backhand that gets attacked a lot, and his forehand is so loopy he has a hard time defending on that side consistently. Juan is more solid in all departments.

Juan is far steadier than Igor but he's still very one-dimensional. Give him a variety angles, pace, spin and bring him to net and he's fucked [eg. Ljuby at IW].

OK, yeah, I pretty much agree, especially thinking back to the match against Ljubicic. He's better at what he does well than Andreev, which is why he won today's match. He'll have to play better to beat Hanescu.

Very tough match.Monaco should be very tired against Hanescu.Nice chance for the Romanian to make the 3rd round against Rafa

Always great to see Juan Monaco winning but both were pretty sloppy today. Better luck for Igor next time and hopefully an easier first round opponent.

Vamos Juan!

While I'm glad to see that he won, I seriously hope for his own sake that Monaco is not going against professional medical advice by continuing to play with a lingering injury  Obviously his wrist problem is not as severe as what Del Potro for example has been going through, but I find it hard to believe that he is not risking making it worse by delaying corrective surgery until this clay swing is over.

May be he is waiting until the French Open is done with.
