Gulbis brings back my belief that he would be a Top 10 player :) (but I still consider him as a No. 1 material :secret:)

Nando was too good in the first. Gulbis upped his level in the 2nd, should have done alot better with his opportunities and made this a 3 setter, but well done to Nando for getting through. First few BPs he faced, he saved with clutch points. After that, Gulbis was back to clown mode.

Until 2-6 0:2 (15-30) Gulbis had been pathetically playing, then won 3 consecutive points after dropshots and realized how should've played, too late.

Nando was serving well at all break points at 5:5 :yeah:

Very poor match from both. Ernests should have taken the second set.

verdasco was so tired and realize in the end that he just had to push gulbis to error

Not bad... but you just cannot clown away your break point chances vs a top-player like Gulbis did at 5:5 in the 2nd set.

Good tournament overall, quarterfinal here is a very good result for Gulbis.

Ernests is frustrating to watch. Talented to no end, but wastes opportunities with bad play or decision-making. Don't know what he was thinking about in the lst set. Upped his level in the 2nd, chance to break at 5-5 with numerous advantages, but would immediately lose same with a bad play. One day he'll settle down in the rally and play level-headed, consistent tennis. One day......

hope verdasco wins it all. Can't stand any of the others left in it

Very entertaining match with two crazy players playing at a good level (well, for Gulbis only in second set ;) ).

Verdasco was lucky in the end even though he also played some good shots there. The match was going in Gulbis's direction if there had beena third set.

lol people always say Nando's lucky when he wins his matches, like it's not possible he could've just been the better player.

I like him very much and he's more often unlucky than lucky imo actually ;)

But in the end of this match yes he was a bit lucky.

Gulbis started to dominate the game, and Verdasco is obviously tired this week.

Gulbis may be very tough for Federer next week if he plays two sets like the end of this match ;)
