Pathetic this Melzer!!

How many times in the 2nd did he have momentum and a frustrated Nando on the other side, and 3-1 up in the third just to loose 5 str8 games with his usual meltzdown!!:banghead:

Tired of Mugdasco cruising through the draws collecting points now. First MC and now a given final in Barcelona.

Come on! Draw has really opened up as well, should beat Gulbis and then a potential meeting with Ferrer :D Defo needs to up his game though!

As for Melzer :retard: He was 3-1 up in the 3rd and played one of the worst Tie Breaks I've seen for a long time! :o

Good win for Fernando. He didn't play all that well and Melzer ended up choking it away in the end there, but he held his nerves together and pulled it out in the end :yeah:

From the Miami thread a few weeks ago:

Ladies and gentlemen, Jurgen Melzer. :worship:

He managed to lose today in virtually identical fashion, right down to the score of the first two sets, so I thought I'd just post the same reaction to save time.

Nothing like a good chook.

Deja vu? Within a month, Melzer lost twice to Verdasco having 6-3 5:4 (deuce)

I see the obvious references to their match in Miami has already been made.

Jürgen did however not choke in the breaker. Nando played really well and aggressive there.

Melzer had to win this match.I like Nando, but he played...not very well.Against Gulbis,he is not the favourite according to me

Some things never change.

Good job Fernando.

Melzer probably needed to win this in two after the length of his last match, and illness earlier in the week. Despite Mugdasco immediately dumping an errorstrewn service break at the start of the third, Melzer was pretty clearly running out of energy at that point.
