If he's not injured at this moment Sebastien Grosjean should receive a MD WC it's the most evident WC of the 6 given by the FFT and MD WC for Ouanna and Rufin are also quite sure imo.

USTA to host French Open wild-card playoff tournaments
Monday, April 26, 2010 7:05 PM

The USTA is hosting a playoff this week to award a men’s and a women’s singles main-draw wild card to the 2010 French Open. The men’s and women’s wild-card tournaments will take place on the clay courts of the Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., April 27-29. The USTA and the French Tennis Federation have a reciprocal agreement in which wild-card entries into the main draw at the 2010 French Open and 2010 US Open are exchanged.

Eight players will compete for the women’s wild card: Julia Boserup, 18, of Boca Raton, Fla.; Beatrice Capra, 18, of Ellicott City, Md.; Jamie Hampton, 20, of Auburn, Ala.; Christina McHale, 17, of Englewood Cliffs, N.J.; Asia Muhammad, 19, of Henderson, Nev.; Alison Riske, 19, of McMurray, Pa.; Sloane Stephens, 17, of San Pedro, Calif.; and CoCo Vandeweghe, 18, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

Eight players are scheduled to compete for the men’s wild card: Bjorn Fratangelo, 16, of Naples, Fla.; Ryan Harrison, 17, of Bradenton, Fla.; Alex Kuznetsov, 23, of Tampa, Fla.; Jesse Levine, 22 of Boca Raton, Fla.; Tim Smyczek, 22, of Hales Corner, Wis.; Ryan Sweeting, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Donald Young, 20, of Atlanta.

The eighth spot will be filled by either 16-year-old Spencer Newman of Palmetto Bay, Fla., or 16-year-old Jeremy Efferding of Lake Worth Fla. Newman and Efferding are both full-time residents of the USTA Training Center Headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla., and are competing today for the final spot.

Both tournaments will be in a knock-out format, the seedings of which will be determined by today’s ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA rankings.

Harrison and Vandeweghe won similar events last December to earn main-draw wild cards into the 2010 Australian Open, while John Isner and Lauren Embree won main-draw wild cards into the 2009 French Open at the Boca West Country Club.

Men's Draw:

I want to say Jesse will win the tournament, because I think he has the best potential on clay to do well at the French, but he has been playing so awfully that I don't know if he can do it. I'm going with the winner of Alex and Ryan in the second round, but I want Donald to win so he can gain some confidence, and hopefully use it as a springboard. I also think the youngsters have chances of being competitive as well.

I think Sweeting is the favourite in this tournament but he is so inconsistent and mentally weak, that even guys like Smyczek or Kuznetsov can win it.
Jesse is out of form for sure. Young is also playing bad but he is always doing better at slams!
I still think Sweeting will win it.

The final is Harrison vs. Sweeting
Amazingly, Ryan rallied from 2-6 1-4 down against Jesse to win 2-6 7-5 6-3
Ryan beat Alex 6-4 7-5

Very expected final. Too bad Jesse lost in such a fashion, but really, Ryan H. has been playing better than him anyway and he deserves a shot here to potentially do something at the French, something that Jesse has gotten. I'm guessing Ryan S. will win but Ryan H. could easily get the job done. Hopefully it's a good match and may the best man win!

True. I'm surprised he got it to a tiebreak. I expected a 6-3 6-4 for Harrison.

Donald should be qualifying anyway at this point, or staying in California and playing the challenger there. He's had enough chances.

Expected, still a great week for Ryan H with a couple good wins. Not sure if he really has the fitness to play a best of five on clay right now.
And congrats Ryan S. :)

Very expected winner of the tournament. I agree that fitness may be an issue for Ryan H. in 5-setters on clay, he still is only a kid but such a talented one. I'm glad Ryan S. gets this opportunity because he has so much potential, he should already be top 100 IMO, and it would be really nice to see him cash in and go somewhat deep at the French, whereas Ryan H. will for sure get chances to play this event in the future.

He's coming back this week while he didn't play since marseille and decided to play the qualies of a future  so i assume he didn't want a MD WC for RG. For Paire I think it's because of his problems with FFT because he has the level according what I saw more than some players in the list.

Thanks soulage. It's been a while since I saw Rufin in a tournament, so I thought he was injured. Didn't notice that he's playing a Future this week. He should win it, by the way.

I like the qualy wild-cards, with great veterans like Devilder, Patience and Prodon. Hopefully they can qualify :)

it's almost sure that Paire will have a direct entry, so maybe Jouan or Michon can get the last WC

Mina? Uh? OK.

Good to see Ryan earning his WC. Very happy to see Doud getting a MD WC, though it also reflects how the French are lacking really worthy contenders. Mahut on clay is an interesting choice to put it euphemistically, but I guess he's a household name to the crowd. Somehow Devilder would be more deserving, even if he's struggling with his comeback.

Since when does beating Sergeyev warrant a QWC to a Grand Slam? I'm not saying Eysseric shouldn't get a WC, but if beating the likes of Sergeyev is the criterion, a heck of a lot of players would qualify.
