Clay season has started, let's hope Misha will do well! :)

We start from Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters

Misha's half of the draw:

[1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) bye
Florent Serra (FRA) - Stephane Robert (FRA)
Ernests Gulbis (LAT) - Marco Chiudinelli (SUI)
Victor Hanescu (ROU) - [13] Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI)

[12] Tommy Robredo (ESP) - Horacio Zeballos (ARG)
Viktor Troicki (SRB) - Lukasz Kubot (POL)
David Nalbandian (ARG) - Andreas Beck (GER)
[7] Mikhail Youzhny (RUS) bye

[4] Marin Cilic (CRO) bye
Igor Andreev (RUS) - [WC] Simone Bolelli (ITA)
Olivier Rochus (BEL) - Andreas Seppi (ITA)
Albert Montanes (ESP) - [16] Marcos Baghdatis (CYP)

[10] Tomas Berdych (CZE) - Feliciano Lopez (ESP)
Qualifier - [WC] Richard Gasquet (FRA)
Julien Benneteau (FRA) - Qualifier
[6] Fernando Verdasco (ESP) bye

Misha plays 2nd round vs Nalbandian who beat A.Beck 6-3, 6-1.

My brother is heading to MC tomorrow with his wife and friends, they have tickets for QF and SF, he also hopes Misha will reach that stage :)

Not an easy draw  but let's hope for the best! :)

Davai Misha! :clap2:

Good luck!

Wow, Jelena, you remembered what we had decided about the threads !!! wow that's cool !! Thanks for opening it by the way.

First match against Nalbandian... I'm so sad they play so early.. but I'm confident the winner can reach the semis :wavey: because unfortunately Novak is not in his best form.

Youzhny leads 1-0 against Petzschner, they had met in David Cup, Misha had won 6-4 6-4 3-6 6-3...
If Misha goes into Munich's final :
He leads 3-2 against Baghdatis.
He leads 3-0 against Cilic.
So, Misha is supposed to win this tournament now

Patrik Kuhnen...I remember him. I always rooted for him.

Misha is lifting weights. :) His arms are getting bigger. He looks awesome. :)

I see no one posted Misha's score :

Youzhny dismissed Pole Michal Przysiezny 6-1, 6-0, 6-4. The Russian No. 11 seed struck 26 winners to just 11 unforced errors and was potent on his break point opportunities, converting seven of 11 chances to prevail in 96 minutes. World No. 13 Youzhny has now won seven of his past eight five-set matches.

Misha has gained valuable ranking points in comparison to last year. That is fantastic as I am hoping he can make a jump to the top ten this year. :yeah:

Rain delay. Misha is down a set. I feel that the rain delay will only help him. He made some errors and Berdych was hitting some strong forehands. Misha was slicing backhands and I wanted him to get aggressive down the line with his backhand. Hopefully he can regroup during the delay. :)

Misha is down 6-3, 6-1 so far. He just took a bathroom break. He needs to change the pace of the match. Berdych is hitting out so much. Misha needs to use his variety and change the pace. Berdych is loving this one dimensional power hitting.

Yeah. I think you've heard me. I mean, you have to. Because there were some fake mishafans and they shouted a "allez Youzzzzzny" and I was the only one who shouted "Davai Misha" (twice, in a complete silence, everyone heard me, and people turned around to look at me LOL). I also shouted a triple davai. No need to say my friend next to me was completely ashamed LOL.

My say? Well, he was the ghost of himself. We all know Misha is a slow starter, but today, he's never gotten into it. You could tell by the way he moved. Was it the cold? Was it something else? I do not know that. What I know is that it's probably one of the worst matches he's played this year so far.

Berdych was good, I have to give him credits for playing some wonderful shots and tennis... However, it wasn't much of a fight, as Misha wasn't himself. I've rarely seen Misha produce so many unforced errors. The first serve wasn't good either. His backhand slice found the net too often. I guess it's a match to forget.

The positive thing is that he reached the QFs, indeed. He's holding the place we've been giving him for months now : top 8 guy. If the race ranking was still on, I guess he'd probably be a top 10 guy for sure. If he keeps reaching QFs, Finals or winning titles, he'll get there anyway. We still have a few more months before he begins to defend his season-ending points.

NicolasKiefer44
