Oh, I know all about Mr.Aubone of FSU. I saw him play at Cloemson last year, he is one of the best ball strikers I have seen at the college level. However he has regressed, he was better in his junior year. He is ranked 27 in the college singles rankings. He has not beaten a single plyaer ranked higher than him and he tends to go away in matches too easily. He just got beat 6-2 6-3 by Henrique Cunha of Duke. He has lost in quite a few routine scorelines.

The livescoring question was answered in another Challenger thread recently. I thought it was a money issue, but it looks like it's a manpower issue. US tournaments are usually run by teams of unpaid volunteers and running a livescore system is a very low priority for the tournaments. They have to use what limited people they have for other things. Dallas is different because they have those guys who do the video as well. I worked at a Challenger for two years in Sacramento, there was no way they would have been able to staff a live scoring system all day every day.

Stil smtg smells fishy about this match, if it's started less then 2 hours ago how come they updated the result so quickly, especially if this match in normal circumstances should start 16:15 CET and last for an average of 1h50 minutes let's say .... Something is verry strange...

I wouldn't trust the Tennis Australia result. I think the article was up a fair while ago and down the bottom they have Gonzalez vs Kelly as a coming up match and they haven't put in Hewitt's result yet from earlier on.

jmf07 I tend to agree with you. In normal circumstances a 3-setter match like that should take around 2 hours, in the circumstances that the match started at 16:15 CET, same time with Nishikori match. But I don't really know what to believe, fonbet first had 76 52 for Santiago and then switched to the result posted by Pawel...Bobo on the otehr side mailed the office....I am really confused I wanna believe Santin won this, I expected this match sincer yesterday for a lot of cash for me...and now I'm really scared it could all be for nothing :(

Yeah I would trust the original result. I think that Tennis Australia article was up on their website 6 hours ago. Plus with those articles since they started publishing them since midway last year they have never been anywhere near that fast with the scores and it is 2am over here so I doubt Tennis Australia would have anyone up waiting for Kelly's result in a first round of a challenger.

You have someone get ithem n the scores, the ATP will give the function to the tourneys for free!
So COME ON.
That is just disrespect for the fans and us out there by the US tournaments that dont have it.
Dallas is excepted. GREAT people, great tourney.

I don't hate Raji, if his ranking were appropriate, I don't think the venom he gets would be around. It does annoy me, though, that he's over-ranked in an extreme way, has shown he cannot win ATP matches, and the matches he does win are almost solely based on opponents struggling, and/or him hitting aces. The Newport event was clearly a fluke event, a good one, but a fluke. Sam said he played at about 60% of his level in the final, and almost beat Raji playing over his head. He's won around 4 ATP matches since.

If Raji were ranked about 125 or so, I wouldn't feel the way I do. I have no hate for him, I simply don't think he should be taking up spots in draws outside of grass in ATP events, over players who could actually win matches or at the very least, make it interesting and bring entertainment to the fans.

He is ranked appropriately. He had the opportunity to win an ATP tour level event and he did. He earned the ranking points to be where he is...clearly he is ranked appropriately. If he doesn't defend his Newport title then he will be appropriately ranked in the mid 100s. That argument just baffles me, its like some people on here believe he has been gifted his ranking points.

Taking up spots in the draw? are you kidding me? Again, he earned his points, what a ridiculous statement. Every other player has the same opportunites Ram has. He played well and took advantage of it. The things people come up with on this board sometimes are just hilarious.

Taking up spots in the draw, yes. Because his chances of winning outside of grass in ATP level matches has proven to be around nil. Especially on clay, and you have the French Open coming up. It's more or less a bye. That's not acceptable, when you have other players that actually could be competitive, and win a match. He beat one player in the top 100 at Newport, and has beaten 2 top 100 players outside of that in the last year on the ATP. That's not appropriate level for the ATP. When you can't win ATP matches, then you aren't an ATP level, that's common sense. His ranking is based on 2 tournaments. So when someone sucks for months and does well in 2 tournaments, it's hard to call that person other than opportunistic at the most.

With that said, he did earn his spot, I give him credit, but it's more actually he took advantage of a situation. He was in a way gifted his ranking points, since he was a lucky loser in probably the weakest ATP tournament on his favorite surface. If Mardy Fish didn't withdraw, where would Rajeev be? I can't knock someone who took advantage of such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (no, most players would die for the opportunity Rajeev got), but when put in situations like majors of Australia and Indian Wells and Miami, he falls flat on his face. His challenger record isn't that impressive either, he barely wins matches on this level, even in victories. That points towards someone playing above their level for a week, against mediocre players, on a surface he is significantly better than them on. That doesn't impress me. Impressing me and everyone else would come by actually following that result in Newport up, and he's failed. And IMO, that constitutes as a fluke win, and his level has been exposed. He's on borrowed time now. The season is more than 7 days.

you say he's a mug now, but I remember you were a fan of him some time ago

that's not good, Ad Wim, Rajeev needs your support :(

I was never really a fan of him, but I did want him to win matches a few months ago. I gave that up now...

BTW, good win Robby.

Ginepri - Ram h2h 1-0 (2007 hard Benz Cup 6-3 6-2).
Since then Ram has progressed a lot of, but I still think that this tournament takes Ginepri. This would be a great match for sure.

Robby should handle Ram and give MTF a reason to celebrate. Probably been a while since MTF celebrated Ginepri's victory :tape:

I'm sad Kei didn't give him more fight btw... but 2 QFs in a row after whole year break, not bad at all... we hope for more!
