Ben Wagland the next big thing

He is a great up and coming junior, he is currently ranked 64 in the juniors, also has a 9-4 record for the year. So far he got to the round of 16 at Tralalgon and then second round at the Australian Open juniors, and now his just won the Auckland 18s. What does everyone think of him.

Date of birth is 16-March-1993. No men's circuit activity yet. Auckland was a nice win but only a grade 3 event. It'll be good if he gets direct acceptance into the boys' Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Hard to say much more at this stage.

You might want to rethink the name of this thread. Sure he's a bright prospect but overhyping someone usually isn't a good idea.

Ben got what I think is his first win on the senior tour in Port Pirie with a 62 64 win over the unranked Australian Qualifier Chris Haskett.

Ben wins his first round in the juniors singles at Wimbledon with a tough 3 set win 8-6 in the third. Hope he can have a good tournment here.

Good mental toughness shown there by Ben to play catch-up every game in that 3rd set and then serve out the match confidently. Best of luck in the 2nd round.

Do we actually have anyone coming through anywhere near Tomic talent wise? Tomic has spoken about our apparent good juniors coming through. I know Kubler has had some good results, but injuries or maybe lack of motivation seem to have put a halt on his career for the time being.
