He has in the past and they won a title as well.
Ahhh, so lovely. The very thought is pure tennis perfection.
It's like Melzer partnering with Petzschner last week, just couldn't believe it - you'd think they'd just bring out the worst in each other. Of course, they won the title :worship:

I know but I'd love a guy like him on the big stage as the panto villain, imagine him in the Wimbledon final retiring when the about-to-be champ's about to close it out

If it happened in Roland Garros, he'd struggle to leave the court uninjured by the Parisian crowd.
What a sight that would be. They show no mercy usually, so imagine something of this extent.

No credibility with James Blake in your avatar.
Getting mentally vulnerable in 5th sets does not equal retiring while down 1-6, 0-5. No credibility with that comparison.

It's interesting that someone retired versus him in 2001 (when he was only 18 and before any of his retirements) at such a late stage in the match. Maybe it scarred him for life...

After that match he talked to a guy and found out he had a bet on him self. And then various ideas slipped in his mind...small bets here and there, nothing suspicious etc. If he thought he would lose too much he would just retire. Tennis at lower levels can be dirty as hell...And this guy was top 60 few years ago...

Actually there's a lot of credibility. :p James Blake has never retired in a match in his professional career, let alone whilst being 1-6 0-5 down.

some years ago i was playing at national level in a juniors match semi final and then i rolled over my ankle so badly i was 5 3 up in the last set!! i didnt retire but let the other guy ace me or hit a winner in the other corner. i lost 7 5 scoring only 3 or 4 more points after the match i told everyone that the other guy was playing big stage tennis and he deserved it!!
i hate people who retire when they see they are losing!!
