Thomaz has a great shot at the title

Great match by this Bellucci guy. Gonzo was 4-2 in the second set but Thomaz managed to turn the match around. Better win the title now!

Too many bad line calls in the first two sets... What was up with those guys?

Also, there was a little discussion between Gonzo and Thomaz when they were shaking hands at the net... Dunno what was that all about.

Fena didn't face breakpoint until that pathetic game at *4:3 in the 2nd set. Two double faults without even an attempt to risk with 2nd serve and easy forehand error in the first point of that game...

BTW, I like Bellucci's second serve, such a high kick, Gonzo most of the time couldn't deal with that.

Exciting match. Bellucci continues to impress. Gonzo didn't seem to be 100 percent healthy at the end, but still a great win for the Brazilian...

Bellucci is becoming a big boy. Although Gonzo helped him a lot , I don`t know what was up on tha third set with him.

And even though Bellucci won, his game is still kind of erratic. it almost works in his favour because he doesn`t give that much rythm to the opponent. Is like one good rally than silly error, a winner than a short ball, nice angles than is not even able to hit the midle of the court...is funny.

Gonzalez was DFing like crazy, still a great win for Bellucci, probably the best of his career so far.

Another tough match against Monaco tomorrow.

Apparently he had stomach problems in the third set.

The way the match was going in the second set. Gonzo would have won it if he hang in there and didn`t have any physical problems. Bellucci wan`t playing that great at all in my view.

Lots of cash down the drain,.

Congrats, Bellucci, and get well soon, Gonzo (didn't watch the match, just the SB, so I don't know what/if was wrong with him).

I hate to be a sheep but this was expected. :p

Gonzalez has not looked impressive at all in his matches and Bellucci punished him. Go for the title Tomaz.

This is a great victory for Thomaz. Although Monaco improved a lot his serve and is playing with more confidence than previous year Bellucci is a much better player and he shouldn`t find many troubles to win his 2nd ATP title today.

Nah, Belucci isn't good enough to be Top 20 material. But at least he has guts to fight matches and win them. :)

I have a feeling that this is a sign that Chilean tennis is getting near to the phase where we only have challenger or future players as main figures. I don't see Gonzo playing in the top 50 in the next 2 years, he has done enough and I believe those knees won't hold on in a year or so. And Massu...he should play DC only, guts can save the lack of tennis that he has, but then the physique won't hold on much longer.

Oh fuck! The future of chilean tennis lies probably on Crapdeville, Podlipnik, Hormázabal and Aguilar...pathetic :o

I think when Bellucci is playing his best, his ball is top 20 material and some. The thing is that he mixes it up too much. I have rarely seen him being consistent through out a whole match.

He counts on his serve to bale him out of a lot of trouble. His serve at the momment is easily a top 10 shot. And he is Forehand is as big as they come. I think if Bellucci really develops Consistency he will fit nicely into the top 20.

Like today final against Monaco, I don`t have a doubt that it will be decided on his hands. He has much more punch shot than Monaco. And it will depend on his error count. Bellucci on clay is nearly a top player already. But he really needs to develop that consistency and defense play. he is still quite yonug to develop into a top player.

LOL

did you actually watch the match ??

Bellucci was completely helpless until Gonzo started to have some kind of mysterious problems

this is like Tsonga beating Djokovic @Aus Open only because the serb was sick

I agree! every year I watch him is a player with better skills and he developed his game in all departments. He is a player that has the chance to develop his tennis skills. Probably his weakness point is that he is still to unstable. But he made many progresses though. I think he can easily be a stable top 15 player.

Gonzo was clearly sick, but still this was another of his classic chokes and now... in front of his home crowd  :smash:

Bellucci will be top 20, even Monaco was top 20 and Thomaz is a way better player.

Saavedra is our only hope man, you miss him in the list, maybe Rivera could do some damage :p Agree on Crapdeville, H-Pod and the part-timers Aguilar and Hormazabal, even the semi-retired Adrian Garcia is better than that bunch of losers. :rolls:

No way that Belucci can beat Monaco. :p

Pico has the title all the way.

Great jinx :worship:
