Didnt really affect the outcome of the match...:) samanosuke 02-05-2010, 05:18 PM Anyway great start of the season for Ivo . Every match that he lost was against top 10 opponent . Try to keep it up Ivo#1Fan 02-05-2010, 05:20 PM Ivo had 1 set point in tie breaker but Cilic served up his 2nd ace of the set to win that point. JesusFederer 02-05-2010, 05:21 PM Sillytch is going to have a good season. Ivo#1Fan 02-05-2010, 05:21 PM Karlovic won the toss and chose to receive...WTF?? Either way you either have to break serve one time to win a set or hold 6 times to force a TB. Really not that important who serves first. TMJordan 02-05-2010, 05:33 PM Get out of here Ivo you sack of crap. oematoema 02-05-2010, 05:36 PM Anyway great start of the season for Ivo . Try to read my post more carefully oranges 02-05-2010, 06:09 PM  @ Cilic bashing brigade squirming at the thought someone interpreted their posts as some kind of acknowledgment for his achievements Ad Wim 02-05-2010, 06:19 PM Karlovic played pretty awful, especially first set. Then his serve saved him, but I didn't see him winning any rally. Lots of balls metres out and very low in the net. Had a mb up in the TB, but didn't hit any first serve then. He was doing well at the AO and before, especially in the rallies. Maybe he was tired after a busy AO... Dini 02-05-2010, 06:26 PM I like what a blogger called Marin recently: Red Hot Cilic Peppers. :p This should have been the final, though. oranges 02-05-2010, 06:31 PM I like what a blogger called Marin recently: Red Hot Cilic Peppers. :p This should have been the final, though. Melzer can play really well. Provided he makes the semi and keeps his head about, it could be a much better match. Dini 02-05-2010, 06:38 PM Melzer can play really well. Provided he makes the semi and keeps his head about, it could be a much better match. True. But I meant more in terms of Croatian interest in a Croatian tournament - a bit like last year Ancic vs. Cilic in the final. As you say though, Melzer is more than capable of making it high quality should he get there. Joolz 02-05-2010, 07:25 PM I like what a blogger called Marin recently: Red Hot Cilic Peppers. :p Wasn't that on a banner some people made for him at the AO? I think I saw it there. tennizen 02-05-2010, 07:30 PM Win the tournament Cilic:rocker2: Dini 02-05-2010, 07:30 PM Wasn't that on a banner some people made for him at the AO? I think I saw it there. Though at least he knew the band. oranges 02-05-2010, 07:40 PM Here they are, great banner BTW http://www.menstennisforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=208778&stc=1&d=1264943333 Joolz 02-05-2010, 07:43 PM Yeah, that's the one I meant. NYCtennisfan 02-06-2010, 07:58 PM Either way you either have to break serve one time to win a set or hold 6 times to force a TB. Really not that important who serves first. In a lot of cases, it IS important who serves first. Serving at 4-4 is a lot easier than serving at 4-5. This is even more important when playing deciding 3rd or 5th sets. Take a look at Federer; he almost always chooses to serve first because he like being 'ahead' on the scoreboard i.e. 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, etc. and he tends to play better when he starts off serving in sets and getting early leads. In the past 5 years or so, I would estimate that Federer started a match on his serve about 75% of the time since either he chooses to serve first or his opponents, in this particular case, know that it's often easiest to break him right off the bat before he finds his rhythm so they choose to return first. | |
