Well, Rafa hasn't made any impression on Tomas's serve, and Tomas has screwed up when he had his chances. Not a nice match so far.

Missed backhand there on break point but no complaints, Tomas had to go for it. The real missed opportunity was that forehand on the first break chance Tomas had.

The match is all about Berdych. Rafa has gone back to defensive mode in this match (apart from occasionally), it's just lucky Berdych is making more errors than he is winners. If Birdman goes on a hot streak the match is his, even at a set and a break down. It looks unlikely though.

I guess you can call it smart from Rafa seeing as he's winning the match, but I don't like seeing him play like this again.

In our situation it's very hard. The test hasnt been done in 3 years so it'll be 3 generations (those graduated in 2004,2005 and 2006) to take it. Each generation ahd around 200 students. There will be only 160 places for interns. I dont know how many will enter it, because some have started other jobs and dont want to change it, but I guess more than 500 will be there. So I'd say is too tough

That sounds similar to what happened to my best friend. She wanted to be an ophthalmologist, but had to wait a year because they didn't allow any students to open a specialisation. Then when she finally got in, ophthalmologists didn't get any of the specialisations that were sponsored by the government so she had to work full-time for free for five years to finish the specialisation. :fiery: :help:

As a choker Davydenko will always struggle to get over any finishing line against Nadal but I wouldn't say he owns him. Overall in the two matches they've played Nadal has won 4 points more than Davydenko.

stebs

This is why Davydenko struggles against Roddick:

1 - He cannot return the Roddick serve, which means...
2 - Roddick holds serve easily
3 - He aims for the lines, which means...
4 - Eventually he has a bout of UE's

So, Roddick keeps holding, Davydenko gets broken a couple of times and *gears in brain whirring* Roddick wins.

stebs
04-04-2008, 11:26 PM

He is a very good second serve returner. His return of first serves is average and against Roddick it's below that.

He is a very good second serve returner. His return of first serves is average and against Roddick it's below that.
You'd only say average at returning first serves? I'd be delighted if Rafito had a return as good as his :o

Davydenko playing quite well so far but Roddick is serving huge and Kolya gets about 1 in 5 first serves back in play.

Peter Fleming and Lief Shiras do not bring out the best in each other.

Night Claire.

Well, I mean in relation to the rest of his game it's average. His strengths are second serve return and early timing off both wings, not first serve return. For a world #2 Nadals first serve return is a weakness.

Some nice groundies from Kolya so far but I know it won't last for a whole match.

Andrew's serve is keeping him in this, he's getting killed in pretty much every rally. Even more than usual :o

Tie break in a second Aimee :help:

Andrew is getting absolutely destroyed, if he had Kolya's serve he'd have lost this set 6-0.

It's going to be very irritating for me as a big Davydenko fan if (as I suspect) Roddick takes the first set TB. He has been outplayed everywhere but the serve. I guess that's why it's the most important single shot in tennis.

"Big servers DO have an advantage in TB's"

It's total bullshit. No basis on logic at all.

I could understand your frustration, this would be hugely undeserved, even I can admit that.
