And I cannot call his junior career wonderful - pretty nice, but not wonderful.

France has always had great depth, I envy their tennis association who seem far more active at getting youngesters in (think Davis Cup), I know the french have a much larger population; so they have a deeper talent pool but they've got so many youngester registered its amazing..well done France!

He seems like a good player. Good serve and forehand. He choked his AO SF match against Fernandes though. However as we know not all good juniors convert the success to the main tour.

That is a bad example! France has not done great in DC recently, admittedly they had tough draws and many abroad matches, but Forget is particularly reluctant to rely on young talent: I really wonder if he will again call on Llodra this year. :rolleyes:

not really, the only French player who DID have to play DC at a very young age, was again Richard. But I won't turn every thread into a discussion about him.;)
