Donīt think it was a fix either, itīs true market was a bit weird, but price didnīt collapse at any time from what I saw as it normally does in most fixes. Korolev was in his usual donkey mode in that match, and Dodig wanted it more

True. I was at the match, and Dodig was just fighting more for every point. Korolev was just his usual self, going for too much at the wrong moments. He has better strokes than Dodig (except serve), but he made too many UE.

Not a fix imo, despite all the odds malarkey. Quite a lot of paranoia given that both of these two like a good fix, and then add on the usual rich Russian fan money and you have a pretty volatile market.

Korolev served an "ace" in the tiebreak at setpoint, and it was then called let. You don't do that if you're trying to lose a set.

When some Croat wins at pbz zagreb indoors, they always say its FIXED.
Tomorrow when Jelenic wins over Bozoljac, they will say the same thing :S

Korolev is just a complete headcase. Came back well in the set, then played a pretty good TB up until 5-3, and then totally fell apart. Dodig was making the errors in the rally, but still Korolev hit 2 returned halfcourt balls out at 9-8 in the TB on his own serve. Just pathetic. And I thought he was getting it together after a good run at the AO...

when i checked about 4 hours before match was to start, all 3 books that i use had the match off the board.

There was certainly plenty money on Dodig, which will cause some cautious books to pull the market (especially in the first round of a 250 with a match between two known fixers). Nothing remotely close to a fix though - if that was the case you'd have seen the winner drop to 1.2 or lower. Dodgy actually started at around 2.75 or so, so he was still a hefty underdog.

Likely explanation is something more banal: Korolev minor strain, out partying the night before, etc etc. Once it leaks to those with deep pockets, who will pay well for that sort of info, a noticeable market move is inevitable.

Obviously you haven't read my post. Since i live in Zagreb, Croatia, i went to see that match today, and Korolev just played as he usually plays : going for broke at the wrong time in points, and Dodig served well and defended well from the baseline.

I totally agree with you on this, it happens in Zagreb every year, the croatian low ranked players can beat better ranked players all the time, it's no surprise for me anymore and i also think that Jelenic will defeat Bozoljac.
P.S. too bad Veic is playing Karlovic, because he could've caused an upset, if he was playing against a non-croatian player
