AO SF: Federer def. Tsonga 6-2 6-3 6-2

Tsonga with no chance when Federer is in this mood. Hardly any unforced errors and many winners.

Not only executing the attack but being brilliant with his shot selection. Murray-like even, but not as much running around.

Funny, Fed is such a weird player in this sense that sometimes he's tactically brilliant but sometimes really pig-headed. Maybe his brain goes awol with his game?

Haven't noticed this before, but Tsonga was having problems getting his kick serve to Federer's backhand in the ad court. Most of the shots landed in the middle of the box. Bad serving day or is this a usual problem of his? I really noticed it in this match because Fed's opponent's tend to serve to his BH.

Lol at Tsonga saving the first MP

Absolute shambles from Tsonga.

Federer played well though.

This is what is known as a beatdown. Tsonga was heavy legged and couldn't do much, but even then Fed took him to the cleaners.

I can't believe people expected Tsonga to beat Roger. That just won't happen anytime soon. The one time Tsonga beat Fed, Fed imploded in 2 sets, one letting Tsonga come back from 5-1. Novak should have beaten Jo. But that's a much more close match up. Roger - Jo is not. Don't expect the same except Murray but it'd make my day if Roger prolongs Murray's slamless reign

Tsonga not close to his usual standard. Left Federer free to play his game and he did. Just destroyed Tsonga by attacking his backhand and opening up the court. Some great dropshots, hit the backhand pretty well and even had some great running forehand down the line shots. Federer's GS streak continues, just unreal.

very good match from Federer but Tsonga was very disappointing. Hardly any fighting spirit which he usually has. He did nothing right in this match. probably the long matches in previous rounds played their role.

Tsonga had little left in the tank for a match he wouldn't have had a chance in anyway, hence the result. A lot of people here need to get their heads out of their asses and realize being a fan of Federer doesn't make you superior in any way, fans came to cheer for Tsonga because he's an entertaining charismatic player, regardless of the result. Good tournament and a nice start for the season.

It's a treat to watch Federer play this relaxed, even though Jo obviously had the wind knocked out of him quickly. Fed just didn't give him any abilities to get the crowd on his side. He was run over from the start and couldn't hit a backhand to save his life.

I missed the first set of this match. From what I saw, I couldn't tell what Tsonga's game plan was. So many slow-paced shots and drop shots! Was this a tactical choice, or was his power hitting just so off (when he did go for it, an awful lot of shots ended in the net) that he felt compelled to slow things down? I can understand being perplexed about what to do when Federer is playing so well -- still, I would have expected more of a coherent, planned strategy from Tsonga. I'd be interested in reactions from people who saw the first set.

I-Logical keeps his outstanding early ACC campaign :worship:

S/he is clearly the GOAT of arseclowning on MTF - I think we should just go ahead and hand over the trophy as the rest of the competition are all just mugs.

We're clearly going through a mug era on GM, given the lack of competition for 'Logical', who is El Matador when it comes to being a pest. The amount of stamina and energy in his/her trolling outmatches all other MTF-clowns, and unfortunately, I think we can be assured that 'Logical' will hold the #1 arseclown ranking on MTF for a long time to come, surpassing all previously held records.

How could anyone be surpised at the result with Fed making no sweat against Jo Mental-Fried Tsonga. He showed the world why hes a mental clown and doesnt deserve to be among the best. I called it before.. I said Fed could just sleepwalk through these pretender.

Terrible match from Jo. Footwork was bad, especially for his backhand side. Even worse when your opponent is Fed and he's playing that well. Huge beatdown.

That interview was hilarious. You can see how relaxed Fed is, must be very content on and off court.

Bunch of clowns complaining as usual when someone manages to show some fucking charisma.
you can't show something that you don't have in first place:p
when he loses he is cries like is end of life:sad:
when he wins he laughs at his opponents:rolleyes:
and his humor is dire,
I was only laughing on how ridiculous he looked trying to be funny:lol::tape:

Crier's fate would of been the same if Murray was in his Quarter. We wouldn't of been hearing his tards boasting about his fluke semifinal runs.

Fed's interview was entertaining and funny. His "arrogance" can largely be attributed to language misuse. He always pays the utmost respect to his opponents.

I also hope the people who dislike Federer's "arrogance" are not fans of Nole or Roddick...You are as objective as a Nadulltard. I like Federer and he's generally a nice guy but he can sound really arrogant in interviews. Only a fool would disagree.

Well, whatever. Mugray will have his hands full come sunday.

What we should do now with your cute song about Tsonga in Ali style? :) It's all around the net.

Um...gotta love the world wide web, right?

There there. Federer's way better than Finito Nadal and always will be.

Bitter twat.

I agree. Federer is so smug...when there's no one to challenge him. AND YET, put him up against Rafa, Delpo, or Novak...he'll stop the chirping I assure you.

Laughing and trying to sound funny? He was funny like Joe Pesci in "Goodfellas".

Don't relax, Fed Boy, anymore, please, you give me creeps.

Apologists always rationalize his "killing with a smile". The point is this: he will never need a p.r. rep...because no one likes to talk about Federer more than himself.

Nadal? Yes.
Del Potro? Maybe.
Djokovic? No.

Pathetic by Tsonga. Real pathetic. What a loser. Even Andreev took a set of Fed, and if Tsonga played Andreev yesterday, he would have won easily.

I was at the match and no I wasn't disappointed, it was great to witness Federer playing at such an amazing level. He was just so aggressive and hit winners all over the place and hardly made any UEs. Jo was a bit tired but still I doubt he could have done much even if fully fit.

Really hoping for Fed to trounce Murray in the final.
