Only dropped 2 games in the 3rd set because he was goofing around (was up 5-0 when Istomin served to hang around). Probably bored. This was criminally easy.

7 double faults
29 winners against 25 UEs.
Made 59% of 1st serves

Expected a better performance from Istomin after his early round heroics.

Tankjob with a capital T for Istomin
Who forced this clown to come play tennis if he doesn't really want to?

Fakervic getting a free pass to the QF.

Both men battled hard but Nole's mental toughness prevailed at the end.

Probably the worst day session of a grand slam ever. Forced to watch WTA and even those matches were bad...

What makes it funnier is that this session was sold out a week ago.

I think they should let the players know before the match next time and penalize them accordingly.

Istomin was fucking horrendous. The scoreline would suggest that Djokovic played a blinder.

He didn't.

Djokovic was solid and unspectacular.

Onwards and upwards.

This was the first time I watch Istomin play. Is this his average game? Cause if it is, then this guy's a joke.

Nole has to work on Break Point conversions. 9/14 is not going to get the job done against Kubot. :p

Nole played solid.

Istomin wasn't very good.

A win's a win.

I watched Istomin beat Nico Lapentti at the USO 09. He played well in that match but generally, I think he is a mug.

Lol, only saying Istomin was terrible, there are the haters again. He hit 31 UEs, look at the most of the other matches, there were guys hitting over 50 in three sets...

Istomin in R3 is incredible. Can't believe how badly Jérémy must have played.

But they played far more than 22 games...Chardy might be up there though.

Same thoughts exactly. Istomin was outright poor today.

This was a yawnfest, the lone loud sound of collective snoring was all that could be heard at Hisense.

if we are to calculate average ranking of players djoko is facing till the quarters, Im pretty sure that would be among the highest of numbers a top players has had in a long time for his first four rounds at a slam.

but look, djoko is no more a villain, he is a full-time company man now, so who knows?

thats right, but it could be one off. what it would be terribly cool is to have some tennis statistics site which would to the math for all the, say, top 10 seeds in all grand slams in past, say, 10 years. I mean, djokos draw is that easy that that sort of calculation would actually make sense.

First 3 rounds of RG 2008 for him : players ranked 64/264/106 :banghead:

In first 5 rounds he played with just one Top 20 player... then Nadal killed him in 1/2
