I was court side for the second half of the first set and Young looked done for. First Grand Slam win for the 20 year old outside the USA. Hewitt next.

This one got interesting, I only turned up early in the 4th set - the boys had been off court at that point for a good 20minutes...an unfortuante ballkid threwup on the court and the cleanup took forever.

Then after all the wait, Rochus calls a trainer, then takes an injury timeout.

Well done Donald, held his nerve in an uncomfortable situation, play wouldve been held for at least a good 30mins.

The Don is nearly halfway. Already racked up four wins and only needs another six.

The Don has a proper coach?

WTF is going on with "THE DON"? :worship: it looks like he's continued the good form he had late last year, could it be that the 'boy wonder' has finally come of age at last? he's always had the talent so i really hope he's turned the corner now, hopefully he'll give Hewitt fits infront of his home crowd  .

I think it may be the last afternoon match tomorrow, organisers probably saving (and hoping) that the Baghdatis and Hewitt progress so they can schedule that for the night match on Friday.

You're in Trouble: Ballboy Has Accident on Court, Delays Match

1/19/2010 9:21 AM ET By Greg Couch

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Just when you thought you'd heard everything ...

American Donald Young beat Christophe Rochus 1-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4 in the first round of the Australian Open Tuesday.

But just as Young had broken serve in the fourth set and started to take control of the match, there was an inexplicable delay.

Young explained: "A ballboy started peeing on himself. So that was really unfortunate.''

You mean that metaphorically, right?

"I looked back and it was dripping on the court,'' Young said. "He ran off. And when he ran off ..."

It left a trail on the court. Well, you can't just keep playing a major tennis tournament with urine on the court. For one thing, it looks bad. But for another, the players could slip in it and get hurt.

"They came out with the blower,'' Young said, "and it wasn't working, so ...''

The delay lasted half an hour.

BTW, does Don have a real coach yet or are his parents still coaching him?

Wow, six years after he was supposed to explode, he's lauded for winning a first round match against Rochus of all people. Blake flashbacks.
