Singh is a great standout player at my hated Cavaliers.

Russia will win with ease.

Virginia has that Indian connection. Another player for them Uriguen is on Guatemala's Davis Cup team.

I read at tennis.com that "Davydenko is out", Buphathi said.

Davydenko is out with injury. Andreev replaces him in the team.

Assuming India takes the doubles, there's a 50-50 chance for the singles.

What does MTF say?

I seriously doubt it, but then again I didn't think Israel really had a chance last year ;)

The injury of Davydenko make that the russian leader is Youzhny. For the second single match, i think Andreev desserve more a place than Kunitsyn or Gabashvili. Yes andreev was crashed last year against Israel. Yes he is better on clay and he recently played on this surface. But he has experience, he is in good form and remeber his first round match in melbourne against federer. Kunitsyn love the surface but he is not in good shape. Gabashvili not too despite his victory against an injured Haas in delray Beach. And actuualy, for doubles, Andreev is good too. He should play with Kunitsyn a good specialist.

Fo India, Devvarman is the leader in singles. But if the indian rules would not have been so silly, i would have picked Amritraj in the second single match. His game suit to the surface. As he is not here, Bopanna have his place. Fo doubles, everybody tell it's a Paes - Bhupathi duo. yes, it's an "enormous" team. But actually, bhupathi played only three or four matches since the beginning of the year (lots of defeats). So if there is a doubt, paes can play with Bopanna too.

There is no big reason for such pessimism on this board.

Bopanna and Somdev can defeat Kunitsyn/ Andreev in straights and humble Leander and Bhupati can wrap up the series by Saturday itself.

I foresee two dead rubbers on Sunday.

I do hope that happens, but no. We don't have any chance. :-(

Ijust don't like starting threads, maybe you could do it? And yes, in the on/court interview Igor said that when he got there, he was prepared to be cheering for the other Igor, but suddenly they kicked him out on court xD.

Now Misha should win both his singles and we're alright. Very important win from Kunitsyn, actually.
