2 aces in the entirety of the match for Anderson :o

Difficult to judge exactly what kind of form Murray is in - didn't even need his B game today.

pathetic that this was on Rod Laver Arena instead of Del Potro/Russell, which is clearly a better match :o Del Potro is the most recent GS champ too, so why does slamless Murray get court priority? :retard:

anyway, dull match. Anderson has nothing to trouble Murray

Someone ban Mats Wilander from television. As if any more incentive was required, he picked Anderson to beat Murray.

Very good match from Murray, with the exception of his serve.

Wilander really said that? :speakles: is he back on coke again? :o :tape: :help:

Yep, they mentioned it on Eurosport. He really doesn't have a clue.

I literally fell back asleep after the first set...until I heard the oncourt interview. :o

Anyway, my impressions from what I remember seeing were that Muzza's serving was dreadful...if he offers that sort of display up against a big hitter like Del Potro (assuming the chap in question is fit) he'll suffer the consequences. Surely won't help him against Nadal either.

Anderson has regressed a little from the player I saw 2 years ago imo...his service action was a little strange back then, but the modified stroke has made it a little less effective imo. Wasn't too good with directing it, and not as powerful as I remember...that said, it could have been nerves.

Wilander deserves a special mention for being a retard again...Anderson a (future) top 30 player? My arse. Top 100 is really as good as it gets (or got) for him imo, although it would be nice if he could go further.

Poor Anderson,he was so disgusted and deviated by the ugly pushing passing shots and mug netplay that was on display by the pale vampire across the net that he could not even concentrate on the match.. thus the end result.

and we thought Reed was bad... :o

Muzza did well but his opponent was nowhere near his level, his C-game allowed him to win 1,1 and 2

No way should Murray be winning 1 1 and 2 against even some one like Anderson with 33% first serves in for the match and only showing intermittent improvement on his second serve speed and placement.

Andy's ground game was excellent today against limited resistance but those serve numbers mean he has no reason to be overly satisfied.

Murray was basically winning points off rally strokes, slices and solid defensive play. The guy Anderson was basically pushing the ball with turtles pace, and still racking up UEs all over the place. One of the worst performances i've seen by a pro in a long time.

Murray did return well, but his serve was poor and I didn't think his forehand or backhand were all that strong either. Granted he didn't have too, but there wasn't much depth or oomph behind his balls, and rarely did he ever open the court up or produce outright winners from the baseline.

He looked like he was playing his D game, against a highschool player

I watched part of the first set and saw where this one was heading....extremely boring pushfest.

Andy is flying under the radar, but I think he will make it far.... This is his first match and he did more than enough to win convincingly.....

I usaully enjoy Murray processions but this one lacked spark because Murray didnt do much, he was just 10 levels above despite serving horribly.

Anderson didnt show, and it was all to easy for Murray I bet Miles gives him a better game in practice.

Good point, Murray is definitely flying under the radar, as opposed to all that bookies favourite donkeybollocks last year.

Hope he can make it to the QF showdown with Rafa.

Absolutely. I was there and it's confirmed. Dulray is quite possibly the cure for insomnia. Also confirmed is the poor scheduling choices by the Aus Open organisers. Dokic vs Kleybanova on Rod Laver?????? I thought players had to earn the ability to play on the main courts by having a decent ranking, not just being an Aussie. What a load of shite.

One would have thought that an established player like Anderson would not be so god damned intimidated by a top player. He couldn't play his own game for the life of him and he just kept on getting owned at every aspect of the game. I was embarrased to see him reapating a game plan that didn't work at all.

Murray looks like he's in fairly decent form and I would expect him to reach the semi's if he doesn't cock it up. Of course, you can't really take anything from a match like this where Anderson played like a scared little girl.

I thought Anderson's 3 decent wins in qualifying would give him the confidence to at least put up a decent fight.
I was so wrong! Murray didn't even need to release the hand-brake, never mind get into second gear. Serving was appalling!

Nice win. Can't really judge Murray's level based on this match, but he came through pretty comfortably, which is good. Also glad that he's still flying under the radar. Needs to just keep the head down and focus on match wins.

33% is a worry indeed, what happened to his serve?Don't think it used to be that bad?

Not bad to win 1, 1 and 2 without a first serve. Anderson is the real deal.

Murray said in an interview he couldn't find the serve timing with the roof closed.

Guess it doesn't really matter, given he was winning pretty much every game regardless of who was serving.
