Soderling had two straight service games with respectively 6 and 7 deuces

I tink Tsonga won like 17 straight point from 5-6 in the first set to 2-0 second set

If he had won first game of the 2nd set to 0, it would have been 18 in a row.

That was a surprise. Looks like Tsonga is playing well. Didn't watch the match so can't comment.

Tsonga played well despite some errors when tended to force spectacular short from difficult position, but nothing new about it. Dont check the stats yet, but his serve was reliable with 10 aces or more. Net play as good as it is, especially reading Sod backhand passing shot fluently. The gutsy condition didnt help both, but bother Sod the most when he has to change defense to offense. What amaze me is Tsonga not only attacking this time, play versatile rally shots and only became impatient after very long rally. Simply Tsonga overpower Sod in most of the match. God preparation for the AO.

This was actually quite entertaining. Soderling seemed to be taking the event pretty seriously, but Tsonga had similar ideas. Tsonga was pretty impressive today, and though I'm still not a fan of the guy, I really enjoyed watching this one.

Sod didnt serve as big as usual, took some speed off must be for a reason. But Tsonga played more mature I think. Defensive was good against big and deep Sod's groundstrokes.

Could anyone tell me when this Tsonga change his racket to Babolat? Any links for his interview/comment about this change and what benefit for his style?

Tsonga has a defeatest attitude against big servers, but Soderling didn't serve like a big server and hasn't lately.

It's the curse of beating Rogie. Since then he's 0-3 (2 exhibition matches, but still 0-3), lost to Rafa, lost to Ginepri (counted), and lost to Tsonga. Sodie could be eliminated early at the AO.

Robin, get your head in the game. A slam is coming up. :(

Söderling has never liked playing in the wind, but all exho matches yesterday were won in straights with a fairly easy second set as everyone wisely seem to take the event mainly as preparation and tuneup.

However, I'd guess the court conditions are fairly similar here to the AO. I'll be glad for every match Robin might win ahead. If he doesn't live up to his seeding, so be it.
