Injury woes have once again sidelined world No. 46 David Nalbandian from the 2010 Australian Open.

Nalbandian, who arrived in Auckland with the full intention of competing in the year’s first Major Championship, suffered an untimely abdominal injury practicing on Monday.

Nalbandian withdrew from his first round match in Auckland on Sunday.

The Argentine had originally intended on staying in Auckland until the end of the week, but after an MRI scan, physician’s suggested that the damage was far to severe to risk further injury.

Nalbandian’s upcoming tournament schedule has yet to be determined.

Really sad:sad:

Well.. excess weight causes injuries, even to hobbyist players. Any recent pics of Nalby? Has he lost weight?

Fucksake, Nalby. Someone tell that wonderfully talented pig to start looking after himself.

Shame, but let's face it, he wouldn't have got past the 3rd round anyway.

Unfortunate always nice to see Nalbandian playing tennis, could have been an interesting 1R or 2R for a seed!

Hope he gets better soon, although I doubt he's really that bothered.

Ouch. I was looking forward to watching him contend for this major. Hopefully he'll be ripe to do some damage at Roland Garros.

Shame was looking forward to seeing him play, anyway the top seeds will be happy, dangerous floater was an understatement.

beating Roger and Rafa twice in a row doesn't mean anything? Paris and Madrid 2007
too bad for David :(

Sad news  Good recovery for David.

I guess the AO would have come to early as the first real tournament after such a long break anyway. It's probably way better to start at smaller tournaments and get the needed match practice there.

How can I feel bad for him when he is a millionaire and too lazy to get in shape?

I is not like losing 10 kilos is that difficult, he does not have an 8 hours office job, go to a fucking paradise island, train, don't eat junk food, and in two months you will be fine

This is really a shame the way he found himself out of the AO as he definitely was looking forward for it.
