Since we have a poll on how far Rafa will go, let's hear what you think about how far Rogie will go.

with Murray or Davydenko in his quarter, he could have a hard time to keep his SF-streak going unless he steps it clearly up from last week, SF I would say

He must be due an early loss. Hope not though.

theseth has green reputation again? :o

This is hard, actually. I feel there are 2 possibilities: Lose in QF, or win the whole thing.

Orka n, who would he lose to in the QF if there, please tell me who? Murray, Davy, Roddick, or Sodie?Any of them. It all depends on how much some real motivation can improve his game, which hasn't been great as of late. If he doesn't play very well, any of those guys can beat him. If GOATfed (or jesusFed or whatever he's called) appears, he'll win AO. At least I think so. :shrug:

Murray can't beat Roger outside the slams lately, what makes people think he'll do it at the slams?

It just seems like there's two different Rogie's playing tennis these days, just like his female counterpart Serena. They have two modes: grand slam mode where they really try and non-grand slam mode where they don't really try.

agree for once. People forget that he had to claw to win vs Acasuso and Haas, hardly top players.

QFs - Murray ,Davy, Roddick & Soderling all capble of beating Roger if he's not close to his best. Which he hasn't been in a while.

Murray,Davy yes,maybe Soda,but definitely not Roddick.

Roddick- Would be easiest QF for Fed but its not like he cant beat Roger he came pretty damn close last time they played. I made it claer in my other post that im talking about Fed who is not close to his best. If AO 07 Fed shows up Roddick would be toast as would everyone else.

Murray,Davy yes,maybe Soda,but definitely not Roddick.Defo not Roddick? If Roddick plays well I see no reason why he can't beat Federer... It's not like it's 100% definite that Roddick will play like a pile of shit if he plays Federer, or it's not 100% definite JesusFed will turn up.

I hope at least SF.

Grand Slams are another story, especially for Federer. And it's 5-set time.

As much as I would like to see Roger and Rafa fighting again in final for a one of the biggest titles in this sport I have a hunch Melbourne will be the place where Roger's SF streak will come to an end...
Prove me wrong Roger

Roger will take his 4th title at the AO 2010 for these reasons:
* Roger in grand slam mode is incredibly tough to beat;
* Roger is eager to reconquest the title since his last win in 2007;
* Unbelievable run in Grand Slams with 18 finals in the last 19 GS + 22 consecutive GS semi finals;
* Nice and good preparation this year.

SF

I definitely don't see Fed beating Nadal, Del Potro or Djokovic in best of five.

theseth1119

Well if he's not getting past the SF it's not because of: Murray, Davy, Roddick, nor Sodie (they'd be QF) and not Rafa because that would be F, it could only be Chokovic or Del Potro.

Roddick can still play great,but ends up losing:shrug:Fed can play like shite and still win,that's the difference imo:shrug:

Last time they played,Roger wasn't near his best,and yet he won:shrug:Why you say that?Just he lost to Soderling and Davy is some exhibition tuurnaments?:shrug:

Sodie's loss was in an exhibition, but the two losses to Davy (both in the SF) were in London's WTF and in Doha, hardly what I would call exhibitions.

Roger doesn't give a damn about small events or even masters 1000. His only focus is GS.
Yo will see !

...it could only be Chokovic or Del Potro.

yes,, i knew that actually. :) for some reason I added Rafa into the list...

For the record, I'd love to see Fed winning the AO but I don't think it's gonna happen.

He might win a few rounds, but I don't think he'll make it to the SF. It's a miracle how well he did last year after the AO.

I'm truly surprised by the number of people who think he's going to win the tournament! Well, actually no. This is MTF after all.

At this point I don't expect much from Fed, not even at the GS (except Wimby). I only wish he breaks Sampras' record of weeks in the number 1 position.

Murray....INTERESTING....the scott he got his ass whipped by Verdasco, and then lost mysteriously at the Us open 2009 when almost EVERYONE was calling him the favourite to win...I'd LIKE to see Rafa repeat and Fed GIVE him a run for his money...it's BEST of 5...the situation changes/the heat/pressure/who's FIT and who isn't Nole has alot to prove due to is POOR performance last year...then again Del Po with his win at the US open...it WILL be interesing

Depends which Roger shows up. He obviously picks up his game for the Grand Slams. It would be hard to bet against at least a SF. Also will depend on the draw.

Roger is not in "invincible" mode anymore. Someone rightly said on this forum, this is the most open GS since Wimbledon 2003.

Federer has lost match consistency. He goes through too many peaks and valleys and when you are playing tight matches, you need to have some kind of steady dependable level so that your confidence doesnt waver in the clutch.

Federer looks to be in mediocre form. He might make the semis but if he gets a tough draw - delpotro, davydenko, djoker, nadal etc etc. I dont think he will win.

He is still the most likely to make the last 4 but winning those two matches, i wouldnt bet on him at this point in his career.

Federer's run of success in getting to the back end of slams is due to come to an end sometime soon but I'm not gonna stick my head on the block and say it's happening this month. I still think he'll make the finals - whether he'll win it is another question entirely. Once he does fall before the semis just once though, it'll happen with increasing frequency, though not every time.

as long as he makes the SF and keeps the streak alive, I'll be content, the rest is a bonus.

At least the SF, and he easily could win the whole thing. There is no clear cut favorite this year, and the pressure is somewhat off Roger. He will be fine and play himself into form for the end.

Marriage and children can effect performance.

Could be anything from Qtr final exit to winner dependent on draw.

i think he will end up in the final so he has to be one of the favorites.

he wins it depending on who his opponent is in the final. he loses if the guy across the net is a player who goes by the name nadal.

he could win if his opponent is murray. i am not sure he can beat djokovic should he be his opponent in the final.
