Do you think there will be any upsets at the Australian Open in the first few rounds? Who will upset which player?

You want someone to say Gulbis, but if Gulbis makes the 3rd or 4th round it will upset some people.

No i don't why would i want people to say that? Just because he is my favorite player. I was just wondering what people thought? Is that a crime?:o Anyways, i don't think he will.

Hard to call upsets when the draw isn't out yet.

seems like this year has more dangerous players not seeded then any recent year so look for some big upsets

I wouldnt be shocked to see a guy like Del Potro or Davydenko lose before the quarters, a la Murray last year.

Hate to say it, but I feel Roger is due an early exit in a slam.

I think Federer, Rafito or Djokovic will be upset in the first 3 rounds!

while we're at it, we might as well start speculating on upsets at the French.

you have to wait til the draw is out

There are some players more likely to hit a barrage of unforced errors than others, and not saying a high probability of unforced errors leads to a more likely upset (there are other factors) but they lead to a more likely poor performance early on.

Davydenko will likely choke against a player in the 20-30 range.

Federer will lose before the semifinals. I say it now

I'll be very upset if Almugro wins a single set. Borderline devastated.

doesn't happen though

True - he's been fairly close though:

Haas was 2-0 at RG 09
Acasuso was very close to going 2-1 at RG 09
Berdy was 2-0 at AO 09
Andreev was 1-0 and 2-2, and a few points from 2-0 at UO 08

Starting to become almost the norm for his slams now. One of these days there will be a 2-0, and the underdog will keep their nerve (especially if it's a big server, with Fed's weaknesses in return these days).
