Not a bad 2nd set from Rochus :) Defo didn't deserve to lose it 6-2 :o

yawn, fed was barely trying, rochus had to go way out his comfort zone just to win a few games.

Good match for Roger

Yeah, Rochus isn't actually a quality opponent, but he did play rather good, 18 winners to 11 UEs isn't something to be ashamed of.

But I haven't seen Roger playing this well since I don't remember when. 47 fuckin' winners LOL in a 6-1 6-2 match? :worship:

Stats couldn't be more meanignless considering the opponent, best you can say is that it's "entertaining". Very sloppy especially in the second set but first match of the year, crappy opponent toussa toussa.

Holy shit.... that's all that comes to mind.

Maybe it's a bad count though... but, perhaps not, because I seem to remember that most points he won were winners. 16 in the first set, and he won 24 points total; in the second set, he won 41 points, so it means 31 of those were winners/aces. Still sounds a bit too much, perhaps they counted a forced error here and there as a 'winner'.

Oh? Is Federer back? I'm happy if that's the case.

Fed played pretty damn well. Excellent ball striking. He was speedy, and his volley and dropshot game crisp.

He flubbed a few strokes with some lazy footwork (that saved Rochus another break on his serve), but other than that looked solid.

Biggest thing that impressed me was his return of serve. He was really punishing Rochus second serve, and even hit a bunch of clear winners on the first. You almost never see Federer play aggressively in the return game, and its clear that he has been practising it.

Yes, unreal how he was punishing all those 110 km/h bombs from Rochus.

Can't gleen much from playing CR. But if Fed is attempting to be more aggressive on ROS then I'll be very happy. :D

 yeees yeees it was only a bagel boy, we know... :)

However, need I remind you of a certain other player who also doesn't exactly hit 2nd serve bombs? I wish Federer would just once pummel that particular 2nd serve, like this.

Pathetic from Rochus. Can't believe I was actually bothered to watch this.

So much pot calling the kettle black. You all get to gush and drool over Roger's game and stats, beating someone so obviously inferior to him, but Rafa's oppontent was "too easy". Right.

Let's be honest: neither Bolelli nor Rochus are a match for Roger and Rafa's capacities but still they both played really well ;)

Actually, since they say Nadal hit 35 winners, my bet is that they probably screwed those stats. No way Nadal hit 35 winners in a 6-3 6-3 drubbing. They probably count most forced errors as 'winners', clueless guys as they are.

Makes me want to watch it again and count them myself.

Good performance from Federer and there was definately something up with the stats thing which was also a problem yesterday. He did not hit 47 winners today.

Now, wait a minute...if Roger can have 47 winners in a 6-1 6-2 "drubbing", then why couldn't Rafa have 38 in a 6-3 6-3 match?

coz Rafa usually has matches with 8-10 winners rather than 30+ :)

because rafa is a defensive moonballer?

but in all honesty, they surely got the stats wrong for both fed and rafa. there's no way fed could have ended with 47 winners in a 6-1, 6-2 match.

How do they even go about calculating stats? Is it people or computers? How specfically could they have gotten the stats wrong?

the stat keepers very likely are young arabic boys who sit with a laptop courtside and maybe are not familiar with the whole winner, UE, forced errors thing. Probably they have counted forced errors as winners

Likely to be the last time that Fed is undefeated for the year. He returned a backhand dtl winner off serve in one of those highlight clips. That tells you all you need to know about Rochus' game.

How specfically could they have gotten the stats wrong?I remember last year or in 2008, Murray and Bolelli played a match, with the final stats coming out with Bolelli with over 50 Unforced Errors, while he hit no where near that amount...

C. Rochus is done, he need to play challengers on clay maybe there he find wins, no return today, no even thoughts about going to balls played from Fedex, he at the beginning won't play for good lose with Fedex he is paradox of his brother, that's why is so many winners when somebody go for the tournament to take cash only.
