Wow impressive victory for the Australian!

86 % on first serves and 80% on second deliveries! :worship:

Should get the last WC for AO now. Great win.

Unexpected. The impressive serving could pose Gasquet some problems, as his own serve's not exactly solid at the moment.

This is Jurgen Melzer.

But this Ebden seems not half bad.

Great first ever tour level win for Ebden! He's now 20-1 since October 12 (including futures) and is heading towards the top 200 (currently ranked 285).

I don't think anyone actually expected Ebden to carry his futures form into an ATP tournament. Impressive that he is now playing at an ATP level and still winning in straight sets. I think he has a real shot against Gasquet tommorow.

This is Jurgen Melzer.
Exactly. I am really pleased about not being a patriot in tennis as Jürgen would drive me crazy.

Ebden was playing well when I was watching, but it wasn't anything special. Melzer was just really bad.

Plenty for the Australians to cheer about.

Really unexpected, but it's Melzer which plays with low-rank players not concetrate. I thought here will be max three sets and win Melzer in the end but two sets and Ebden ; o

Expect anything from a guy who can lose to Di Mauro is a hardcourt slam and Volandri in an indoor Masters.

Melzer probably entered a while ago, when he thought there might be a need for last minute points to make an Aus Open seeding. He's pretty secure on that score now, so little motivation.
