Reunion tour starts in the Masters :) this time in 2006 we were starting playing TT in our first challenger. We teamed up for the first time and promised ourselves we d play here someday :) 3 years later and after a lot of hard work, we ve made it each by its own way. Now its time to team up again and win it all! We ve won Acapulco together -our first ATP title , we won a challenger too-, made the Indian Wells SF in 2007 and Wimbledon QF last year. We deserve a big title now. This will be it. :rocker2:

How romantic. :) But a bit arrogant to say that you deserve the title here.
I hope to do better than in 2006, when I reached the semifinal. I can still finish the year as number 1 and as I've already been number 1 in 2006, it shows that I'm a legend of this game. :)
Good luck also to Pablin, the doubles specialist.

:cuckoo: why do i have to take the most overachiever ever's crap?
shut your pipe.. you fluked a showdown here.. most undeserved player in the field.. !
moreover you fluked the #1 in 2006 winning a Mickey Mouse masters series with less than 64 players in a draw (like 5 or more walkovers and barely 64 committed players) ive seen your draw.. you should feel ashamed of bringing it up
you out of the whole TT community should never speak about deserving things, arrogance.. and.. "legend"? the worst n1 in the history.. you are the luckiest player in the history of the game!

exactly. it is a pretty crazy situation when we have to decide among ourselves who plays. there is no possible tie-breaker to determine which of us should play. we've played together all year, so it seems really dumb that we can't play doubles with each other at the yec.

I think they should be allowed to play.
JMG
11-20-2009, 11:10 AM
I would say you have to decide beforehand whether you want to be a substitute player or play a challenger.
For example, last week I told felip that I'll play Helsinki if I finish 9th and won't wait for an alternate spot here.
ExcaliburII
11-20-2009, 11:16 AM
Maybe put that rule for next year, but there was no "official alternate list" for this year.

i don't agree. i don't think the normal rules apply in these circumstances. i feel that this individual case should be made an exception to the general rule, much like (i believe) it is possible to play a challenger and also GS quallies in the same week

imagine this was sunday morning and a player in MD of the masters walkovered..
ALT1 would have been whoever sent picks in doubles and followed the requirements to be in this tournament (not playing the challenger previous to the YEC, being the highest alternative who sent).
Its the same.. if you sign up for a challenger on the not permitted time of the Masters, you re excluded of the tournament  those are the rules to play this event :tape: by playing the challenger you re not eligible to become an alternative

this tournament is different from all others. people do not sign up for it, they simply qualify. if you qualify, you are in. if you don't, then you are out. i therefore naturally worked on the assumption that i was out. since then, things have changed

What moronic rubbish is this?
They didn't qualify, so signed up to play elsewhere, someone pulled out so they're willing to play here. What the fuck would the point be in not allowing it?

The rules were clear, it would have made much more sense to let GlennMirnyni play, as he didn't do anything wrong. We all know that this "Bannings are not done lightly" isn't true these days.

its not moronic, players who are in the zone of qualification cannot play or should nt play any tournament in hope of qualifying. that's my point of view. but if the board is fine, then let them play, but then manu86 should have been able to play a challenger this week on the same basis......

You have no idea what you're talking about, like usual
We discussed as soon as the OOP for the FIRST DAY was out already that we were going to pick Soderling over Nadal, long before one of our opponents didn't send picks. It was the only way I could get him to not pick Del Potro  You have absolutely no idea how he and I play TT or what kind of picks we make together and what we do.
You are talking bullshit, I just agreed on picking Murray first day with Jess because we were going to risk on Soderling today. I got 3/3 picks correct, yes. and 2/3 SRs. :nerner:
Yes :D

Yes I know those two. But the 3rd match that makes up Match 3 will be the Thursday afternoon match. Either Fed vs DelPo or Murray vs Nando. If Fed loses tonight and he and DelPo are playing for a SF spot I might make that the SR1. If Murray vs Nando is the afternoon match it is SR3.

I think you can assign the SR numbers tomorrow when the OOP is available. But you do need to formulate how you'll decide the numbers before matches start tomorrow so that you can't be accused of things like "Player X did well on Wednesday so let's make Thursday's match SR3" (or the other way around).

I don't know why they can't release the OOP for Thursday. They know what the matches are. :( I'm inclined to think Fed will be the day match, because he has had two night sessions.

Linda, sorry to intrude your managing (which has been really good :) ) but.. the remaining sole match should always be SR1 IMO. Lowest SR should be always the lone match remaining. (SR1 previous round, SR3 new round when splitted in the OOP)
For example take what happened with Crocodile and Foosimoo. Even when Foosimoo tried a comeback he was badly compromised on the previous day.
but thats only my point of view  you can do whatever you want to :D and it will be more than fine with me at least. :wavey:
