Great thread title name! :yeah: :worship: :) Basel is a very business-oriented city indeed  And we'd all love to see that "taking the king's crown" attitude in Nole again.....like some people here, I've started to like aggressive-and-slightly-cocky Nole more than nice-guy Nole when on court. :rocker2: Go and try entering the final and beating the king (how many times defending champ??)

And Rose, have a nice time there :D Send him our wishes and kisses. Maybe you can hold a banner writing "To Nole with Love from MTF"?

Delpo :o  He's not been himself since the US Open win. I have hoped him to pass Murray in the rankings

 Nice idea - but I've been to Basel before, and it's quite a "formal" tournament - smartly dressed, loads of the business people we're spoken of offering hospitality and wheeling/dealing in the Bars  So if I had a banner like that I'd most probably be arrested. I'll cheer for you though.

And I agree about Delpo - get well soon JM - I want to see him at WTF too.

Delpo will be disappointed that he's not really been able to play after his USO win, but at the end of the day, he won the USO for crying out loud. He'll be fine I'm sure. :yeah:

Anyway, as for Nole, here's hoping. :rocker2: I can't wait for the draw to come out. I would like Nole to do well but not to peak too early before the YEC.

http://www.davidoffswissindoors.ch/News.411+M522bd0d3620.0.html

Especially this bit:-

Respect for Federer’s life’s work

In today’s society, showing respect is almost as difficult as earning it. As the recognised focal point in Switzerland for world tennis, Basel is therefore taking this opportunity to pause and reflect on Federer’s wonderful career and pay tribute to the champion of all champions prior to the end-of-season race towards the ATP World Tour Finals in London. By winning his 15th major tournament title in Wimbledon, Federer overtook Pete Sampras in the Grand Slam standings with a record of achievements which will go down in history. Tournament president Roger Brennwald will therefore honour Roger Federer on behalf of the Davidoff Swiss Indoors and present him with a replica of each of the three trophies that the player has won to date in the St. Jakobshalle.

For US viewers, TC is showing the entire tournament. Only the QFs on Friday are live though (8 am EST). Weekend is delayed because of Fed Cup final. Don't know why the early rounds are delayed but they'll be on at 7 pm EST Mon-Thurs.

I believe ESPN360 is also showing the tournament.

I'm a bad fan but I don't really feel like following Nole's matches live at a MM tournament right now. :p Next week (we're I've applied for some leave from work ) I'll be able to follow the Paris Masters on TV (I didn't apply for that reason BTW ), and I'll be able to hopefully watch a few of Nole's, as well as other people's matches. :yeah:

Good luck and Ajde against Beck. :rocker2:

Nice that he played OK in his first round. No need to raise his level and peak too early. :p

Ajde for R2. :rocker2:

Guess I won't be crazy enough to read back 10 pages.
I checked result immediately after I woke up  6-3 7-5....looks pretty routine?
From the ace stats and % of points won on first serve, he seem to be playing well...
Let's hope he can continue that :)

I`m not going to give a report of the match because most of you watched it anyway. Nole played well in the 1st set - a few typical Djokocoaster errors in the 2nd - now on to the next round. :D Have written a longer "report" in the usual place, - but not of the match - don`t see the point when everyone has seen it - so just more silly asides and more personal stuff

Bye for now from Basel :wavey:

Usually the match will start on time. Tuesday's first match went to the distance and ended with 7-5 in the third set. The second match was only about 45 minutes from the start time.
