Strange list. Missing a lot of guys like Evans, Ram, Dent, but there are a lot of clay guys...

niezubayern1
09-17-2009, 05:36 PM
Ram isn't playing because he is entered in Bangkok that week. He is making the entire Asian swing so he won't be entering any of the west coast challenger events in the coming weeks.

Ram made the cut to play doubles in bangkok with eric butorac so i'm sure he will also be entered in qualifying there as well. He is also on the qualifying entry list for the Japan Open. Since he will already be over there i have to assume he will attempt to qualify the shanghai masters event as well. I say good for him, he finally has a ranking high enough to make an attempt to get into atp level events.

By the way, this event is at a different venue this year, a much larger club that has held a Futures event in previous years. I'm not sure what kind of results and stuff you'll be able to get when you call, but I'm sure it will be worth a try.

Is he such a perfectionist? This must be one of the biggest wins of his young career (together with Houston last year and Vancouver this year) and Zemlja is a very good player, ranked 156 and reached a challenger final two weeks ago.

Yeah, I'd say he kinda seems to be. He goes into every match thinking he can win and is pissed if he doesn't, even if he is a big underdog.

Also bad results from Lapentti and Sweeting, strange tournaments with so many seeds already out. At least Ryan has got an easier 2nd round now imo!

This is the Giraldo we all like to see: almost impeccable on serve and very quick matches. That's better than struggling against mugs on clay. Smart move to go to the HC!

Ryan won 6-3 3-6 7-5(5) A hard one to follow the scoreboard on, for sure.
Ryan served for the match at 5-3, was broken, and then was able to save some BPs at 5-5. He then gutted out the tiebreak, tough match. :D

Not comparable man. Britton is a year older than Harrison and is still ranked 1561. Harrison is top 400 after this week, and a year younger, that's so much better.

I wasn't equating the two. I was asserting that Britton is, at a minimum, a decent hope. His ranking is incredibly misleading.

I was there today. Witten was absolutely horrid, very sarcastic on court, like he had thrown in the towel. Harrison looked tired, and was getting increidbly irritated with himself. Levine played pretty well. Sweeting pulled outta dubs with a bad ankle, so Levine practiced with his coach after the singles match. Talked with him, Witten, and Lester Cook a bit, all great guys. Levine is confident for tomorrow. I unfortunantly wont be going, but it was an awesome day. Beautiful court, great club, and only five bucks! Ill post a ton of pics tomorrow.
